Today's Season of Joy reflection on John 16:20-23 is by Fr. Richard Bollman, SJ.
Father Richard is a Jesuit priest living in Cincinnati at Xavier University. He works in retreat and spiritual ministry, and assists with worship at St. Robert Bellarmine parish where he was once pastor. Ordained in 1969, he also served at the University of San Francisco, and as Director of the Jesuit Renewal Center in Milford. Since his time as a pastor, he has been able to focus more on the ministry of spiritual direction.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn,
while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.
When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived;
but when she has given birth to a child,
she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy
that a child has been born into the world...

Can We See Jesus? - Season of Joy | John 16:16-20 by Deacon Ron Yurcus #easter
Today's Season of Joy reflection on John 16:16-20 is by Deacon Ron Yurcus.
Deacon Ron, ordained a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Joliet, follows in the footsteps of St. Stephen and Francis of Assisi. In addition to ministering at St. Petronille Church, Ron was employed as hospice chaplain, volunteer state police chaplain and occasionally served as a parish mission and retreat director.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“A little while and you will no longer see me,
and again a little while later and you will see me.”
So some of his disciples said to one another,
“What does this mean that he is saying to us,
‘A little while and you will not see me,
and again a little while and you will see me,’
and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”
So they said, “What is this ‘little while’ of which he speaks?
We do not know what he means.”

She believes in networking with others and grounding the work in prayer and contemplation.

About midnight, while Paul and Silas were praying
and singing hymns to God as the prisoners listened,
there was suddenly such a severe earthquake
that the foundations of the jail shook;
all the doors flew open, and the chains of all were pulled loose.
When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors wide open,
he drew his sword and was about to kill himself,
thinking that the prisoners had escaped...
