    Episode 5: Alfie Lewis - We Will Remember Them

    Sharks, peaches and brewing up a cup of char on the side of an Indian mountain! A very different podcast today... OK he’s not HR but he is human, inspirational and the best story teller ever! As requested by many of you, a bit longer with Alfie Lewis (my dad) - remembering, and how he still can remember every detail 75 years later is beyond me, back to his army days on this Armistice Day 2020... “Flying into Burma with a film star!!” How could I not have him on our podcast.  He gives us a glimpse into the life of a 17 year old army recruit from Brentford to Burma.  It funny, its sad, its history and as always, the golden nuggets of how to live a good life are there. However many times we talk he always tells me about something new and always makes me smile.  I hope he does the same for you!

    Episode 4: Ingrid Fear - Fear & Resilience

    "The children that are encouraged, when they are young, to go and explore and have that fall over, are the ones that come back stronger and tend to face fear very well with lots of resilience" This episode we were joined by Ingrid Fear. Ingrid is a Behavioural Change Coach, and highly experienced facilitator in personal development and leadership that impact and support change. An interesting conversation around personality traits, why we behave the way we do in the workplace, how we are all handling the fear of change with the covid-19 pandemic, how each person / member of staff is very different in dealing with events in and around the work place.  In this episode we also talk about how to manage fear and be resilient in this current times, managing limiting beliefs with reaching your potential, how to create a supportive company culture, staff fears of returning to work, how to build self confidence and recognise self worth.  We hope you enjoy it.

    Episode 3: Jolene King - Employee Health & Well-being

    “You're health is you're responsibility, you need to invest in it" In this episode we were by Jolene King, an experienced HR professional with two masters; HR Management and Industrial/Organisational Psychology. Jolene has a huge passion for health, well-being and nutrition in the work place, she is the principle consultant of 246 King Consulting, specialising in reducing employee absence and promoting employee health and wellbeing at work. Jolene is a committee member of the CIPD Northampton branch. and also a trained occupational psychologist.  In this episode we dig deep into the benefits of addressing employee absence, how to engage line managers, using the right questions with your team, how different skills and processes are needed when working from home, each company being very different and also how the CIPD is adapting to the "new normal". Marc really opens up in this episode, tells us about his rock bottom experience working a demanding job in advertising, and why this made him change career and build a business to ensure others do not have to go through what he went through.  We talk all things mental health in the work place, the pressure on HR professionals at the moment and tips on how you can help support your employees well-being in difficult times.  We hope you enjoy it.

    Episode 1: Sovel Cunningham - HR is not my name!

Outside of the typical HR role, Sovel is an aspiring author and supports 3 different charities. We speak about Sovel’s journey to get where she got today, what she believes in, self-development advice, the importance of company values, prioritising self care, lessons from Covid-19 and all things HR!
