Over the course of the multigenerational multipart documentary, hosts Damon Williams and Daniel Kisslinger talk with organizers, policy- makers, historians, and community members about how PCR emerged and led, the legacy of Ms. Johnson's work, and how this marginalized Chicago pocket built the lineage of today's vibrant, impactful, and necessary modern environmental justice movement. The BEST

This is not an easy listen because of the environmental racism it addresses head on, but it is absolutely inspiring through the literal garden of community voices that shine through the root narrative of a powerful mother figure and the movement she led. We should all want to join Hazels garden. Thank you for all who contributed to this work of art that represents the richness of the work with such honor. The best podcast I’ve ever heard.

Brilliant all the way around

The podcast is phenomenal all the way around. It’s a great story with lessons for people working in government (me) and academia. The contradiction bell is such a great element, as are the pauses to breathe through the parts of the story that are truly hard to hear. I’ve been inviting everyone I know to listen to this and learn. Hazel Johnson’s persistence is a model to which I aspire. Thank you!
