Mauri Friestleben is a leader's leader. As the principal of North Community High School in Minneapolis, she has been reacting to the racial and social injustices that so many in the city of Minneapolis are experiencing. You guys, Mauri is standing up...TO EVERYBODY!

Her fight for justice has been directed at elected officials, the police, the citizens, the schools and more. No matter the audience the focus remains the same, to better the community of Minneapolis.

Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba has been very vocal of late advocating for social justice in our world and pushing to eradicate racism in the game of hockey. Principal Mauri Friestleben is the principal of North High School in Minneapolis. Prior to this school year, her first year at North, she spent 10 years at Lucy Laney Elementary in North Minneapolis. Her time there, her efforts and her radical approach to loving kids first is the focal point of a documentary film titled "Love Them First: Lessons From Lucy Laney Elementary. She is a real life superhero and the impact that she is having on young kids in our city is priceless.

Timberwolves Chaplain and local pastor Matt Moberg is encouraging us all to have uncomfortable conversations on race. Pushing for systemic transformation, Matt is helping to lead the way in our community and is doing so by calling a spade a spade in the battle against White Supremacy.
