The Hidden Tax on Your Career: The Cost of Being Glue in Cybersecurity

The Hidden Tax on Your Career: The Cost of Being Glue in Cybersecurity

Do you ever find yourself doing the tasks that need to get done but no one else wants to do? Do you find yourself taking on more technical leadership and responsibility but not being recognized for it?  Have you ever been told you’re not technical enough? Or asked, are you sure that you want to be an engineer because your interests don’t align with a “typical programmer”?  If you relate to any of these, you might be “glue”. Glue tasks are often undervalued and can lead to being overlooked in the workplace, despite their crucial role in keeping things running smoothly.

Never heard of being glue or glue tasks before? No worries, in today’s episode of HerHax Podcast, we introduce the concept of glue tasks, why it’s important to recognize them, and what to do if you find yourself in a situation where you are glue.
