Hey, What Are You Doing? is a podcast about everyday people and the real lives they’re living, right now. Every week, I call someone up to catch up on what they’re doing in their world: work, home, big dreams, unexpected turns, or just the little things that make up everyday life. Sometimes it’s a first-time guest. Sometimes it’s a “where are they now” update with someone you’ve heard before. She shares what her pregnancy was really like, having her son Teddy at 36 weeks after a fast labor, and the first few weeks of newborn life, including a NICU stay and figuring everything out in real time as a first-time mom. We get into postpartum surprises (because no one warns you), postpartum mental health, breastfeeding and pumping, reflux, intrusive thoughts, and how overwhelming those early weeks can be. Also: newborn etiquette, baby products that are actually worth it, and a few that absolutely are not. Now she’s eight months pregnant with a baby boy (currently going by “Butch”), getting ready for a baby shower, newborn life, and still trying to land on a name. We also get into buying and renovating a house, her work in organ donation and transplant coordination, finishing two master’s degrees, and how she’s balancing all of that at once. It’s one of those episodes that’s equal parts life update, real talk, and just catching up on everything that can happen in two years.
