    In this episode we have the pleasure of interviewing Eric Degenfelder on the show, for the past 4 years has been the CEO of UC Coactings and is in transition into his next CEO role. Eric is a Private Equity CEO in the specialty chemicals and materials markets. He has deep experience in growth strategies, new markets, and new products. Most recently he was CEO of U-C Coatings, a $30M manufacturer of wood coatings and treatments based in Buffalo. Prior to that he had many roles in large companies including DuPont, Axalta, and Air Products. He lived with his family in China for five years, where he was leading DuPont's $600M Coatings business. Here are my notes from today’s episode: 1. Need to wear multiple hats. As a CEO having experience in a number of different areas can be very beneficial. 2. Can be very financially rewarding for a corporate world role to transition into a Private Equity CEO. 3. Diversifying markets a. Main form of growth - Retail products, deck stains and sealers, wood siding finishing products. $0 to half the company revenue. b. Diversifying from hardwoods into softwoods. Building products.     In this episode we have the pleasure of interviewing Michele Knox on the show, and Michelle is the CEO of WindSolar USA. In 2008, Michelle formed WindSolarUSA, Inc. to provide all market segments an opportunity to be more sustainable and have a level of energy self-sufficiency.  She received her training through the Midwest Renewable Energy Association in Custer, WI and she is a Certified Site Assessor for both Solar Photovoltaics and Solar Thermal.  She has completed over 300 photovoltaic projects ranging in size from 1kW to 160kW, various LED lighting and several wind and solar pool heating projects. She has written and been awarded multiple grants from USDA Rural Development’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) and Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG), as well as ICECF to fund 1kW+ educational solar installations to (13) schools across the state of IL, a children's museum, and a zoo.     Outsource Non-Critical Path Roles To Drive Margin Growth and Effectiveness!

    In this episode we have the pleasure of interviewing Tim Blaisdell on the show, and Tim is the CEO of Pith Products. Before taking on the role of CEO at Pith in 2023, Tim has spent most of his career focussed in the aerospace industry, vast experiences ranging from Managing Director of International Business at Pratt & Whitney to a number of other C-level executive positions at a number of other aerospace companies. Tim now leads all Pith Products business operations to guide company towards sustainable growth practices. Responsible for improving EBITDA and driving revenue through strategic leadership, process improvement, and gained efficiencies. Implement strategic partnerships, new marketing campaigns and additional sales channels to drive top line growth. In this episode, Tim shares with us how outsourcing non-critical path roles has allowed his team to focus on higher priority and value projects.  This has allowed for great clarity and focus resulting in removing lesser important repeatable tasks from his primary teams plate. Along that same vein, Tim also shares how he has been able to utilize outside sales reps that already have relationships with his target clients versus hiring an internal sales team.   Time also dives into how diversification into multiple industries has been a pivotal for growth potential and sustainability during different industry sector dips.
