    Episode 16: Can God Use Me? Have you ever wondered, “Can God really use someone like me?” In this episode of the Higher Cause Podcast, I’m sharing something a little more personal: my testimony of how God called me to preach. It started at a youth conference in 2016, when God began working in my heart through the preaching of Sam Davison. From there, God continued dealing with me, but even when I sensed His call, I wrestled with it. I had plans for my life. I worked on buses, served in nursing homes and stayed involved in church, but when God began calling me to preach, I ran from it. Then, in 2020, God got ahold of my heart in a way I couldn’t ignore I made decisions that would completely change the direction of my life. Eventually, those decisions would lead me to attend Bible college and continue following God’s call. This episode isn’t about what I have accomplished. It’s about what God can do with a life that is willing to surrender to Him. If you’ve ever felt unqualified, uncertain or wondered whether God could actually use your life, this episode is for you. Can God use you? Absolutely. The question is: are you willing to let Him?

    Episode 4: The Danger of Pride - Daniel 4 Pride has a way of convincing us that we are stronger, wiser, and more important than we really are. In Daniel 4, King Nebuchadnezzar stood at the height of his power and looked over Babylon as though everything he had accomplished was because of him. But God was about to teach the king a lesson he would never forget. In this episode of Lessons from the Life of Daniel, we look at The Danger of Pride and the devastating effects pride can have on our lives. We’ll see that pride affects more than just ourselves. It causes us to take credit for what God has done, pushes us toward isolation, and ultimately brings us low. Scripture warns us that pride goes before destruction. But there is an answer. Humility begins when we humble ourselves before God, recognize our complete dependence upon Him, put others before ourselves, stop living for our own glory, and remember that everything we have ultimately comes from God. And above all, we look to Jesus Christ, the ultimate example of humility. Pride says, “I’ve got this.”Humility says, “Without Christ, I can do nothing.” Join us for Episode 4 as we study Daniel 4 and learn why the answer to pride is not thinking less of God’s blessings, but remembering where every blessing came from.
