We Had Bikes… These Kids Got Passwords 😂

This week on Highly Talkative Podcast, I’m talking about a little bit of EVERYTHING — because y’all already know how we do over here. 😂 We’re starting with what school mornings have been looking like lately, allergy season beating us UP, and which one of my kids is actually the easiest to wake up. Then it’s Week 2 of football! My oldest wasn’t able to play last week because of his injury, but I’m so proud of the way he still showed up and supported his team however he could. His team got the win, my youngest had a great game, AND his team won too! 🏈❤️ I’m also getting into Kira J the Poet, how I discovered her, why her work speaks to me, and how poetry has been inspiring parts of my own healing journey. And yes — we’re talking about Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Again?” From the Black cast and hilarious flashbacks to the real-life situations and deeper conversations about telling the truth, communicating, and being honest with our kids. I also open up about how therapy is genuinely working for me, including a situation that happened during a game and how my therapist helped me recognize that I had already started learning how to navigate my own emotions differently. PLUS: 📚 I’m getting back into reading — should Highly Talkative start a BOOK CLUB?! 🎙️ How often should I really be dropping podcast episodes? 🔐 Do our kids actually need privacy? Do you know their passwords? Are you reading texts? And do we knock on bedroom doors around here?! 👀 🚲 And finally… childhood THEN vs. childhood NOW. We were outside ALL DAY, riding bikes looking for our friends, asking our parents to call somebody’s mama so they could come outside, and knowing exactly whose house everybody was at based on the pile of bikes in the yard. 😂 And you BETTER have been inside before those street lights came on! This one is funny, nostalgic, personal, and full of conversations I KNOW y’all are going to have opinions about. Come talk with me. 💜🎙️ Instagram: @highly.talkative Facebook: Highly Talkative Podcast Email: highlytalkative@gmail.com 🎧 Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube iHeartRadio RSS & other major podcast platforms #HighlyTalkativePodcast #HighlyTalkative #PodcastLife #BlackPodcast #BlackPodcasters #MomPodcast #ParentingPodcast #RealTalk #ParentingTeens #BoyMom #FootballMom #YouthFootball #TherapyWorks #HealingJourney #MentalHealthMatters #KiraJ #PoetryLovers #TylerPerry #WhyDidIGetMarried #BlackCinema #GentleParenting #ParentingToday #ChildhoodMemories #90sKids #2000sKids #StreetLightCurfew #BookClub #PodcastCommunity #PodcastRecommendations #ListenNow

Wait… Why Do I Still Have Money Left?! Parenting, Signs & Other Suspicious Sh*t

⚠️ EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING: There’s a LOT of cursing in this week’s episode. 😂 This week on Highly Talkative Podcast, A. Milly is talking parenting, confidence, money, motherhood, and trying to get life back on track. We’re getting into why I’m so open and honest with my kids, whether being “too close” to your children is actually a bad thing, and the struggle of disciplining kids when taking things away just doesn’t work. I’m also sharing how I’ve been rebuilding my confidence with mirror talks, giving myself grace without making excuses, and why I continue to trust the signs the universe sends my way. Plus, have you ever paid all your bills and had too much money left over? Because now I’m convinced I forgot something. 😂 We’re also talking about how fast time is flying, watching my baby girl grow, my oldest son’s first football game and injury, and trying to restructure my weeks with 5 AM mornings and journaling. And somehow I went to an empanada festival without eating a single empanada—but the food and agua frescas definitely made up for it! Another funny, personal, slightly chaotic, and completely unfiltered episode of Highly Talkative Podcast. 🎙️ Hosted by A. THEY GOT ME UP AT 5AM?! 😳 School Is Back, Sports Parents Are OUT OF CONTROL & Trump's Vaccine Shake-Up

School is officially BACK... and so is the chaos! 😅 In this episode of Highly Talkative Podcast, I'm talking about everything that had me laughing, stressing, and shaking my head this week. We're diving into: 📚 Surviving the first week of school—from early alarms, showers, football practice, taking first-day pictures, and realizing my oldest is experiencing his LAST first week before graduation.🌅 Why these unexpected 5AM wake-ups have actually become one of the best things for my mental and physical health. I'm walking, working on my core, getting myself together, and making mornings much less stressful.👨‍👦 The conversation every parent dreads... When do you have "the talk?" Should Mom handle it? Should a trusted male figure step in? What if your child hasn't brought it up yet? I'm sharing where I honestly stand and asking for your thoughts.🏈 Why youth sports have become WAY too serious. The politics, the lying, the manipulation, the gossip, and grown adults forgetting these are KIDS. Sometimes karma really does handle business.💉 Trump's proposed vaccine schedule changes. What he's suggesting, what it actually means, and why I personally agree with parts of the proposal.👶 The Facebook debate that refuses to die... Do you wipe your baby after every pee diaper? I'm giving my answer (YES!), my diaper routine, and asking a question that has everyone thinking. This episode is funny, honest, controversial, relatable, and full of real-life conversations happening around kitchen tables every single day. 🎧 Grab your coffee, your headphones, and let's talk about it! 📲 Follow Highly Talkative Podcast 🎙️ Listen: https://rss.com/podcasts/highlytalkative/2910511/ 📸 Instagram: @highly.talkative 💬 Facebook: Highly Talkative Podcast 📧 Business & Listener Contact: highlytalkative@gmail.com #HighlyTalkativePodcast #Podcast #Parenting #BackToSchool #SchoolMorning #YouthSports #FootballParents #MomLife #SingleMom #BoyMom #GirlMom #ParentingPodcast #MorningRoutine #5AMClub #FitnessJourney #CoreWorkout #VaccineDebate #Trump #CurrentEvents #RealTalk #MomTok #FamilyConversations #LifePodcast #TexasPodcast #TrendingNow #PodcastRecommendations #ListenNow #SpotifyPodcasts #ApplePodcasts #BlackPodcasters

24 Hours Ain't Enough & Trying to Keep It Together

If you've ever looked at the clock and wondered where the entire day disappeared... this episode is for you. This week on Highly Talkative Podcast, I'm keeping it all the way real about juggling work-from-home life with a growing baby, managing businesses, motherhood, sports schedules, school chaos, and still trying to find time for myself. We're talking about surviving longer wake windows, figuring out how to maximize the same 24 hours everybody gets, balancing multiple kids with multiple schools and sports, and why sometimes a long phone call with your best friend is the best therapy money can't buy. Plus... let's get into the stress of deciding whether to rent or sell a home, unexpectedly running into an ex (because WHY, universe?! 😂), surviving the night before the first day of school, and taking an honest look at where my self-control and discipline have gone—and how I'm planning to get them back. If you're trying to balance motherhood, work, relationships, personal growth, and life without completely losing your mind... come pull up a chair. Catfish, Cannabis & Classroom Chaos | Texas Got Us Talking!

This week on Highly Talkative, we're talking about EVERYTHING! Is catfish and spaghetti a real meal? 😂 We're also breaking down Texas' controversial new THCP law, back-to-school shopping struggles, solo dates and self-love, the infamous "three wash rag" debate, heartbreaking cases making headlines in Mississippi, and whether SMARTTags on school buses give parents more peace of mind—or too much reliance on technology. Plus, I want to hear from YOU! Which local influencers, business owners, or community leaders should I interview next? Email your suggestions to highlytalkative@gmail.com. Cute Cups, Better Attitudes & Building Independent Kids

This week on Highly Talkative Podcast, we're talking about EVERYTHING from home upgrades to life upgrades. 🏡 Is carpet really worth it anymore or is hardwood flooring the better investment? 🥤 Why do some of us have an unhealthy obsession with buying cups? Stanley...HydroJug...Simple Modern...if it's cute, it's probably coming home with me! 😂 👀 We're also doing an attitude check-in! My oldest has been making some amazing improvements, we're talking about my own attitude, and my youngest son's personality that keeps us laughing. Then we dive into one of my favorite conversations... Not everyone is raised the same. Different homes create different perspectives, values, habits, and expectations. Sometimes we forget that people simply don't think like we do because they weren't raised the way we were. As parents, one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is independence. Teach them to: ✔️ Pay their own bills. ✔️ Take care of themselves. ✔️ Build their own stability. ✔️ Never depend on someone else just to survive. Because love should never come from necessity. This is one of those conversations that'll have you laughing one minute and reflecting the next. 🎧 Let's talk! 📲 Follow Highly Talkative 🎙️ Listen & Subscribe SpotifyApple PodcastsYouTubeiHeartRadioRSS Feed: https://rss.com/podcasts/highlytalkative📧 Email highlytalkative@gmail.com 📱 Instagram @highly.talkative 📘 Facebook Highly Talkative Podcast 💬 Don't forget to: ⭐ Rate the podcast ⭐ Leave a review ⭐ Share your favorite episode ⭐ Tell a friend to listen #HighlyTalkativePodcast#PodcastRecommendations#PodcastLife#ParentingPodcast#MomLife#FamilyTalk#Adulting#LifeLessons#PersonalGrowth#FinancialFreedom#RaiseIndependentKids#BlackPodcasters#WomenWhoPodcast#SpotifyPodcasts#ApplePodcasts#PodcastCommunity#HomeImprovement#HardwoodFloors#InteriorDesign#StanleyCup#HydroJug#SimpleModern#CupCollector#MillennialMom#SelfGrowth#RealConversations#TrendingPodcast#NewEpisode#SupportBlackCreators#ListenNow

Growing at Your Own Pace & Trusting the Process

This week on Highly Talkative Podcast, we're talking about growth in every sense of the word—our kids, ourselves, and our mindset. Why do we expect every child to develop on the exact same timeline? Are milestone charts helpful, or do they sometimes create unnecessary anxiety for parents? I'm sharing my thoughts on why comparison can do more harm than good and why every child's journey deserves to be respected. I'm also opening up about my own mindset shift. From creating a vision board to becoming intentional with my habits, I'm learning that the future I've always imagined is starting to feel more real. We'll talk about discipline over motivation, staying organized, and how your daily habits shape the life you're trying to build. We'll also dive into my spiritual journey, why I've become more interested in spirituality, the conversations around religion vs. spirituality, and how comforting it was realizing I'm not the only person asking these questions. Plus, can we talk about baby gear?! Why is finding the "perfect" travel stroller harder than buying a car? 😂 Nine years later and everything seems twice as expensive! I'll also share what traveling solo with an infant was really like, what made the trip easier than expected, and the must-have items I wouldn't leave home without. Sometimes growth isn't loud—it's simply trusting the process. 🎙️ Listen & Subscribe RSS: https://rss.com/podcasts/highlytalkativeAlso available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and YouTube.📧 Contact Email: highlytalkative@gmail.com📱 Follow on Social Media Instagram: @highly.talkativeFacebook: Highly Talkative Podcast💬 Join the Conversation What parenting milestone made you worry that you didn't need to?
