An ear to the ground for healthcare

I listen to a lot of health and technology podcasts. Lack of adequate microphone quality and sound engineering on the HIMSS podcast drives me away from becoming a regular listener. The host’s issues with with vocal fry and nasality (get some vocal coaching) can be mediated by better equipment. But when the guest is talking in an echo chamber, the sound issues are seriously distracting. In the case of May 9, 2025 episode they were unbearable; I stopped listening. a little sound engineering might go along way. Also, don’t let your guests speak from their cell phone or their computer microphone. These are basics and don’t just apply to the top 100 podcasts. Will guarantee that you are losing listeners.
