In this episode, Chad sits down with Shiftbacktick. A web developer, accessibility advocate, and computer music graduate, Shiftbacktick creates games that blend technical innovation with inclusive design. Their work focuses on real-time synthesis and procedural generation to build rich interactive audio experiences, powered by their own spatial sound and synthesis library, syngen.     Unsyted Radio: GFBG Pt3 - Toasty

    For pt 3 Chad speaks to Jesse who is a Software Engineer based in Massachusetts. Outside of work, Jesse contributes to Web Standards work, and small web projects. For the past three game jams Jesse has worked on three separate games as well as accessibility libraries and templates to enable frameworks like PICO-8 and Love2d to be screen-reader friendly. The past projects include Lunch Gambit (Games for Blind Gamers 3), and LadyBud Roll (Games for Blind Gamers 4). And this year for Games For Blind Gamers 5, Jesse created the wonderful game Toasty.     Unsyted Radio: GFBG Pt2- Impulse Response

    Chad continues the special series looking at the Games For Blind Gamers 5. Continuing today we start interviews conducted with members of Games For Blind Gamers, highlighting all of the amazing work done by the community who spent all of February 2026 creating blind accessible games that are free to play and totally blind accessible. Today Chad is talking to the amazing Max, the game developer for Impulse Response. Max is a self taught programmer, becoming a professional game developer 10 years ago. Currently, Max works as a web developer but still dabbles in his free time on projects like impulse response and the engine it was made in - ruby_rpg. For Impulse Response, Max did all the coding, physics, sound engine etc giving Jenna's ideas a place to come to life. Also the wonderful Jenna "Jennissary." Jenna who did the voice acting for Impulse Response. Jenna works as a producer for live and interactive audio description at Descriptive Video Works. Jenna is the industry's leading expert on in-game audio description. Jenna has spoken at JAMTL, the Game Accessibility Conference, and has guest lectured at UCL. Jenna has produced audio description for major titles (Mortal Kombat One and Spider Man 2), events (The Game Awards and Xbox Showcases), and event trailers.
