Historical Yarns

Hosts Rachel Roden and Heather Boyd bring you a unique podcast organized by seasons. In each season you'll learn about yarn or pattern styles from around the world: where did they come from? What's the history? Then you'll be able to grab the pattern for a custom design based on the topic from either Rachel or Heather. Each episode's first half discusses history and the second half discusses the pattern.

If you’re a yarn junkie like me, this podcast offers a glimpse into the past. How did our favorite knitting methods come about? Absolutely riveting

If you’re going to do a historical yarn/knitting podcast, you really should know what you're talking about!! READ SOME BOOKS!!!
Yes, you are math people

Ladies, please, no self depreciation! Knitting is mostly math with a splattering of art. It’s full of patterns and algebra. You just have a different math sense because knitting, etc, has not been traditionally defined as math. All knitters- you are math people!
Good overview of knitting

After the crappy review of the clueless wonder who is more interested in our social climate than history I just had to give you guys a positive review. This is a fun, informative overview of knitting history, how different knitting styles and techniques came to be and how different regions came to put their own stamp on knitting - interesting without getting bogged down; and thank you for not putting our current social climate spin on things and focusing on the history. I highly recommend if you enjoy a history and knitting!
