    We waited. We wanted to see what the SITCH was. And now, we know it. YOUR FLYERS are BACK in a home clinching playoff spot game for the first time in 8 years! Jeff CALLED it baby, he did, he did. We are FLYERED UP over here in Hoagie Mouth HQ. We also have love for the "back in the playoffs, sorry bout last year" Sixers - where they are doing a play-in game (TONIGHT!) against the Orlando Magic. Can we do it? Can we keep the vibes going without Joel? If we do it, the Celtics await. Dayum. And sure, we touch on the April Phillies (.500 ball, in pursuit of .506 as y'all know). And sure, maybe we even get a little excited about the NFL DRAFT which is now suddenly upon us!     ST PADDY'S HOLIDAY EDITION of Hoagie Mouth - sure you're hearing this today, nursing your Guiness hangover like you were beaten with a shillelagh...but we kept at it for you folks! We jump right in and discuss all things WBC - on the night of the championship no less (editors note - congrats to Venezuela!) . We discuss a NOICE performance by Nola, even if it was a traitorous appearance for Italy against the US and A. And we kinda basked in the postseason / championship vibe around the whole deal. Good to have exciting baseball in early March! And then it's on to the Eagles - who have been busy in making "little" moves here and there. An undisciplined but high upside corner? BRING HIM ON. Someone named MUNDT? You know I'm all about that. And of course, we are twiddling our thumbs waiting for the NFL draft. Join us for a very special episode that night!     #191 - The Adem Bona Block Chain Award // Eagles Defection Intersection

    We may have done it again...as a matter of fact we KNOW we did it again, dear Hoagie Mouth faithful. We covered all FOUR teams in less than 90 minutes. Why do it we do it? For the people, duh you dummy! First up - we cover the FLURRY of activity around NFL free agency. Not much on the acquisition front to report - but we have some fan favorites who are now former Eagles. Nakobe, Blankenship and Phillips are all gone. Still alive, but dead to me. Howie is planning some moves no doubt, but those will be in the draft and some salary cap sacrificial lambs. On to April's draft! Next up - the Sixers WIN but at what cost? Maxey out for three more weeks. Now Oubre out again. And Joel....man, who knows. Mike's not feeling good feelings about their chances in the postseason. If they even get there. The Flyers - similar. We miss Brink but welcome a BUMP...but let's see if we can keep a semblance of a season alive. Gotta win tonight - and it's a tough and improbable climb to the playoffs from here. Damn.     #190 - Kids, Check your Vitamins for PEDs // Sixers Lose by One Million Points

    In this day and age, when you can google any darn thing, why in the WORLD would you or COULD you still test positive for PEDs? In BASEBALL fer chrissakes. The most steroid-y problematic league?!? Well whatever, Rojas. I guess it was sort of a good run with the Phillies. On Hoagie Mouth, we don't shy away from the BIG stories...and we give you our somewhat informed takes on those big moments. Looks like Rojas is gonna fight the suspension, but the Phillies really do have bigger fish to fry. Every time we have a problem like this, I turn to the farm system to focus on a solid prospect. Aidan Miller, looking at you now bub. Speaking of INFORMED and DENSE takes, Mike gets into loads of analysis regarding possible moves by the Eagles. We talk compensatory picks, the draft, salary cap - YOU NAME IT, we got it in that segment. Jeff ponders if the suddenly resurgent Flyers will be buying / selling at this week's trade deadline. The jury is out, but we just won 3 in a row at the right time. Let's storm the castle for a wild card spot. Vladar wants it, you can't deny him.     #189: Offseasons Were Made for Rumors // A Melange of Sixers Stew

    We are still down TWO sports from actually playing real games. That means there's always time to get ourselves WORKED UP about all sorts of things. No actual baseball happening? Let's interview Bryce Harper and see what he's dissatisfied about today! Eagles OTA's still months away? Well, then let's see if AJ Brown has made a social media post! Honestly, we're exhausted by it, but the ink continues to be written. But here on HOAGIE MOUTH - we try to keep it to the REALLY REAL, along with Foreigner karaoke. Tune in to Bob, Mike and Jeff as we cover all of the sports. That's right ALL OF THEM, no matter if they are on ice or on the hardwood or the grass or the turf. Comprehensive, that's us.     #188 - Management Clashes with Franchise Players // Sixers Still Napping

    We are BACK after a quick break (sure, let's say it's Olympic related, why not), and we once again delve into all things Philadelphia Sports. Whether the public demands it or not! First - we almost live looked in at the Sixers v the Hawks after the All Star Break. And things are...not yet up to game speed for the Sixers. Maxey is starting to plateau out, PG is still suspended, Embiid has a thing with a body part...but VJ wins MVP of the Rising Stars game! That last part is really the only good news. Maybe we shoulda kept Jared McCain. I refuse to look up his solid stats and minutes played on his new team lol. NEXT - we compare the seemingly similar strife striking squads situation in South Philly. The Phils have a Dombrowski / Harper problem, and the Eagles kinda have an overall AJ Brown problem. We discuss the similarities between to the two - is it really about questionable leadership on the coaching / GM side? Or is it just entitled diva season from the players end of things? Man, I just hope we hang on to these two anchor players, because we need em if we are gonna continue our winning ways. We promise to be more upbeat next week - if the NEWS ALLOWS IT TO BE.     #187: E-Pod / STOUT OUT / Jared McCain's Painted Fingernails

    Wild NOOZ day in Philly yesterdee! And we are frankly, just kinda stunned and saddened to learn that Jeff Stoutland has decided to leave his post as the OL coach for the Eagles. 13 years - and so many eras - each of which was marked with OL excellence for the Birds. We hate it, we loathe it, it's NOT A GOOD SIGN and we hope this will work out. We also touch on the lack of clarity around Big Vic (ed note, right after recording, it was announced that Vic will be the DC for next year at least) . Is there smoke AND OR FIRE? And then finally we discuss the OC move to hire Sean Mannion...and baby, we will just have to see how that pans out. Here's hoping. AND STILL THERE'S NOOZ - Jared McCain, who had a SPARKLING start last year in his rookie season (cut short by season ending injury), is now on the OKC Thunder. We loved his personality, his painted nails and his clutch shooting. But it was ultimately not to be. A first and three seconds ain't nothing in a return haul. Flyers? Hardly knew 'ers!
