Meagan, I’m excited to have found your podcast! I’ve been a nurse for 15 ish years and just yesterday someone asked me if I’d ever thought of doing something different in nursing. I’ve been in critical care for 14 years. I told them no. I still love what I do. I tried a management position for a couple of years, but it wasn’t where I’m meant to me. Bedside in critical care is where I have felt the most impactful in patients lives. It’s where I get joy from my work. I too feel that my career is a calling. Not everyone in the field shares that feeling. Being the one that still loves the work kinda makes you a black sheep. But Jesus left the 99 for the one, so I’m okay with that.
