Home Viewing John and Bethany

- TV & Film
-
John and Bethany own too many movies, so they're watching all of them in alphabetical order. Watch with them and hear their thoughts.
-
This Robot Runs on Love - Pacific Rim
It's part one of a Del Toro Double Feature. Get in the robot with your closest companion and fight some otherworldly sea monsters in Pacific Rim.
-
Art and Casinos - Ocean's 11, 12, 13, & 8
After two months of holidays and sore throats, John and Bethany are back with a full movie series under their belts. What makes an Ocean's movie? It ain't coral reefs and barnacles, that's for sure.
-
Potluck - Julie & Julia
John and Bethany dig into Nora Ephron's culinary bio-/blogo-pic, Julie & Julia. It's pretty food and frankly incredible performances to celebrate the Pocket Podcast Potluck.
-
One Take - 1917
John and Bethany try very hard to channel Roger Deakins and do it in one take. They maybe don't succeed all that well.
-
Anti-WhoDunIt - Knives Out
John and Bethany dive into one of the biggest American movies of 2019, Knives Out. You know we love a Southern Daniel Craig, we live for a cast as stacked as this one, and we dig Rian Johnson's groovy style. If you haven't watched this movie, just GO DO IT.

#68: LA Buddy Noir - The Nice Guys
John and Bethany dig in to Russel Crowe and Ryan Gosling’s take on a buddy cop movie. The Nice Guys is good, but it’s got some stuff it could’ve done better! But not the chemistry or the killer bees: that’s on lock. CORRECTION: Angourie Rice isn’t in American Vandal. She’s in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home, and John just got his blonde teenagers in American high school media confused.

Great!
I love listening to spouses talk about things they love - it helps when they're witty and know about what they're talking about, too! John and Bethany are a joy to listen to, I definitely reccomend this show highly.
A Fun Review of Movies at Home
John and Bethany are really cool! I can tell even from listening to this that John has really cool hair and that Bethany has even cooler hair and that Bethany is a goddess placed upon this Earth and John is unworthy of her even if he does know a lot about cultural studies and postmodernism.
Wonderful!
The concept of sitting down to watch and review all the movies you own is terrifying to me as an individual who owns way too many movies. But John and Bethany make it so fun and so casual that it doesn't seem like work. It's fun to find out why they own the movie in the first place and their thoughts on the movie as a whole. I haven't seen some of the movies they talk about and now I'm definitely interested in checking them out!
