Manhattan Gold Corporation [ASX: MHC] has spent the past year quietly assembling one of the more compelling junior gold setups on the ASX: a 665km² project in Canada's second-largest greenstone belt, a newly refreshed management team, a fully funded drill program, and a historic resource that's barely been touched at depth. In this episode, Homodeus Research's Anthony Han speaks with Bay Rezos, General Manager of Manhattan Gold, about the company's 2026 exploration program at Hook Lake in Nunavut — the first modern drill campaign on the project in 30 years. What we cover: Hook Lake Overview Hook Lake sits in the Rankin-Ennadai greenstone belt — the second-largest in Canada — alongside neighbours Agnico Eagle (5 million ounce resource, 4,000oz/yr production) and B2Gold's Vickers deposit. The project covers 665km² with 12 identified prospects. Manhattan holds 20-year exploration agreements with the two local Inuit communities and a 7-year drilling permit following regulatory clearance from the Nunavut Impact Review Board. JAWS — The Anchor Target The JAWS deposit carries a historical resource of 285,000oz at 2.3g/t gold. Historic drilling only reached 190m vertical depth on average — compared to Agnico Eagle drilling to over 1km in the same belt. Manhattan is allocating ~3,000m of its 4,000m RC program to test depth extensions and grow the strike from 940m toward 3km. The Five 2026 Drill Targets JAWS — depth and strike extension of the existing resource Omega — first-ever drill test of a banded iron formation (BIF) gold target, identified via aeromagnetics; same geology type that underpins the large deposits in the belt Quantum & Lotus — two orogenic gold targets, never drill-tested, with 2025 rock chips returning up to 11g/t Au and 1,400g/t Ag Spectre — a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit drilled in the 1970s; shallow holes returned 3% Cu, 95g/t Ag and 1g/t Au Vanquish — a newly acquired target 80km west in the Kaminak greenstone belt, with the strongest gold-arsenic till anomaly recorded in that belt; channel and rock chip assays are currently in the lab Supporting Exploration Program Till sampling across the project to better define the BIF geology; aeromagnetic survey expanded to cover Vanquish (two planes now operating); LiDAR and orthophoto survey recently completed for both targeting and project engineering. News Flow Assay turnaround is approximately two to three weeks via the Yellowknife lab. With the drill now turning at JAWS, investors can expect regular results through to approximately November 2026. Nunavut: Why It Matters Beyond the geology, Bay discusses why Nunavut is an increasingly compelling jurisdiction: growing Inuit-led communities that see mining as a pathway to economic self-sufficiency, Canadian government investment in Arctic infrastructure (all-season roads, deep-sea ports, the Grays Bay Road & Port Project), and the broader geopolitical backdrop of Arctic sovereignty and critical minerals security. Other Assets Tivovara (NSW) — 220km of strike in the Coonaberry Gold District; earn-in farming agreement with Novo Resources progressing (Stage 1 complete; Stage 2 underway; 70/30 split post A$1.5M spend). Ponton (WA) — 8th-largest uranium deposit in WA; optionality play on any change to WA uranium exploration laws. Path to 2027 Bay discusses the ambition to expand the 2026 program to 6,000–7,000m if conditions allow, before packaging all data — drilling, till sampling, aeromag, LiDAR — into a materially larger 2027 campaign. Long-term optionality includes standalone development, joint venture, or M&A.
