    Ep 23. PTSD and Beyond

    I have learned and grown as a person because of what I have experienced, but I also still have PTSD and probably always will.  It's how your brain has been trained to respond and as someone with PTSD, our natural instinct is often to expect the worst case scenario.  It's not pessimism, it's a trauma response.  In being transparent, I share an example of how PTSD has affected me this week and how I am using coping skills to make choices that promote healing.

    Ep 22. What is PTSD?

    This solo episode discusses what PTSD really is, common symptoms and some of my own personal experience.  The definition of PTSD and general description along with symptoms is based around Lisa Najavitz descriptions in her book Seeking Saftey mixed in with my own experience.  The purpose of this discussion is to help those with PTSD recognize the symptoms that are so very common to others who are also experiencing PTSD so we understand the process better as well as to help others understand and better to relate to us.  If you're experiencing PTSD, it is extremely beneficial to see a counselor or join a support group of others who can work through this with you.   Thank you for joining us, you belong here.
