The Traditional Reading of the Unaddressed Problems & Confessions

Episode Notes This very special episode is "The Traditional Reading of the Unaddressed Problems & Confessions"! Here’s how we got here: As audience members stream into the theater for this show, they’re given a piece of paper where they can write down their name to be a judge, a problem that we may address in the show, and a confession that must remain anonymous. At the end of the night, I read these problems and confessions, and THAT’S what you’re about to hear. It’ll be the combined audio from July, August, November, and December of 2018. Now, you should know, there may be profanity and direct references to adult themes, which is why you're here in the first place, but y’know, disclaimers. This episode was brought to you by Frank Tavares! He’s an author and voice over artist who is best known for being The Voice of NPR for 30 years. He’s also a good friend, and supporter on my work on Patreon. Thanks, Frank! How do I decide whether or not to come out as polyamorous?

Episode Notes It’s been 3 years since we’ve opened our marriage up to other partners romantically, and it’s gone… pretty well! He’s had a few girlfriends, no one serious. And I’ve had a few wildly emotional connections with both genders (I identify as female). The woman I’ve been with for the past 6 months is really amazing! We suit each other so well. I can totally see her being a fixture in our lives for a long time, and so can she. But we’ve come to a fork in the road. We recently went out to dinner down the road from my house, and she grabbed my hand as we walked from the car - I froze! It’s a small town, and everybody knows everybody, and if anybody saw her do this… They’d think I was cheating on my husband, AND they’d know I was also into women… And I know, it’s just other people, who cares, right? Love is love is love is love and stuff. I may be able to come out as polyamorous if those townsfolk were the only ones in the equation, but my husband’s family is very, very religious. Telling them about our open marriage is 100% out of the question. She deserves to be with someone who will hold her hand in public. I want to hold her hand in public! But if I can’t ever be totally out with these other loves, why are we doing this in the first place? My husband’s family live many states away, so if I DID come out, I’d only have to hide it when they visit a couple of times a year. Where do I go from here? Is there a middle ground, or should I get off the field? THANKS SO MUCH to our audience, to our judges, and of course to our panelists, Will Rehm, Josh Marcus, and Ryan Lindsay, who won the Loofah of Truth that night!
