The JRPG Pursuit

Love their chemistry and the quality of discussions. I was out of gaming for a long while until I came across the trio as individual creators on Youtube. Became an instant podcast subscriber when I found out abt this collaboration. Their useful tips have helped me fall back in love with jrpgs and manage better my jrpg backlog! 🫶🏻

The show should be called The JRPG Tangent. Rarely do they stay on topic. You also have to withstand the endless drumbeat of “Please pay our subscription fee!” I’ve blocked them all on YouTube over that alone. Every 3-4 shows has one worth listening too. It’s an okay show if you have an hour to kill, but not worth seeking out.

Generally most of the gaming podcasts I tend to listen to are more news focused if not the creators are journalists/industry types so it is refreshing to listen to a group of fans enjoying the genre. Also appreciate that they show retro games love

JRPGs are kind of a new experience for me. I tried several podcasts about JRPGs to learn more, decided to commit to this one and I’m glad I did. I am satisfied with the quality and quantity of content to listen on daily commutes. I don’t use YouTube much and even so, from an auditory perspective, don’t feel excluded during visual segments (and look forward to the ‘new pickups’ part), like I often do for other YT-primary shows. The breadth of knowledge amongst the hosts is great. I appreciate them.
