I AM PASTOR DEB Biblically Speaking...

As we honor mothers this morning, I want to talk briefly about The Mothering of a Mother.  Today’s message is from 2 Kings 4:1-7.
Let me set the scene of the times.  This story happened during a time when the law of the land dictated that a creditor could enslave his debtor and his children to pay off debts owed.
Verse 1 reads, “The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant, my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”
Because the scriptures don’t mention that her husband died enslaved, he was likely making payments to this creditor to pay off what he owed.  
But his creditor likely heard of her husband’s death and decided to take advantage of the law, which said they could enslave her children to pay off her husband's debt.
Right off the bat, we know this woman was a real mother,  she wasn’t having it.  No one was going to take her children from her, let alone compromise their freedom and subject them to who knows what.  This woman went into “true mommy mode.”

I consider myself a good cook, but like some of you, I enjoy skimming through Pinterest to see different recipes to spice up my traditional recipes.  Every cook knows there are just some foundational ingredients you can’t omit.  For instance, you need some flour to bake a cake,  and you can make some desserts without real sugar, but let’s be honest, it is not as good as those made with real sugar.
This morning, I want to talk to you briefly about the secret ingredient God used when creating mankind. Before He pulled Adam from the dirt and blew into his nostrils, there was an ingredient that should never be overlooked.

Good Morning Truth,
This morning, I need to share my truth with you. First, I want you all to know that all ministers and all humans, no matter what their title or position in the Kingdom is, every human, is flawed, capable of mistakes and missteps, capable of being discouraged, and apt to, at some point, be disobedient to God's word and principle.  
Never set anyone above the mantle of humanity but God Himself. This past Sunday, I bought a message that talked about atmospheres and how they impact us mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. It also discussed how God gave us the authority and power to shift atmospheres.
I also talked about the impact of sound and how sound prompts us to respond to it. We explored how we should respond to atmospheres and sounds in a manner that glorifies God.  Well, I have to confess…

Some of you, right now, under the sound of my voice, are uncomfortable in certain atmospheres in your life. Then others are being unrighteously influenced by ungodly atmospheres.
The power that God has bestowed upon you can shift atmospheres. His breath in you…. is life. His breath in you is the wind you need to push you into, out of, and through different atmospheres.

When we set our minds on being more anxious to find the jewel of truth, our minds are renewed, and we become committed to testing, weighing things out, replacing anger with the act of analyzing, and exalting discernment, which is the utilization of godly principles to determine our actions and reactions.
We have to become more anxious to find the jewel of truth so that Team Satan doesn’t use our offenses to devour us.
