I Am the Fly is about a brief time in the late 20th century when you could live in the East Village on a waiter’s salary and still afford to go clubbing, when sushi restaurants had smoking sections and MTV was commercial free. When you could rub shoulders with A-listers but still have no place to post it.
I am your narrator, David Klein, and I am the fly.

Alice Something with an H
My leap into the online dating pool is like 15 years of my dating life condensed into three weeks: a couple of no-shows, a visibly disappointed manic pixie dream-girl, and some fast action on my living room couch.
Maybe Alice … Something with an H ... will be the one to turn the tide. -

It’s My Life (and I’ll do what I want)
My podcast listening is all over the map. Sports, country music, rock music, music production and guilty pleasure bands. But I return to David’s ‘I Am The Fly’ as it’s the most relatable in my regular rotation. He grew up in roughly the same era as me. It’s almost like a much cooler Wonder Years timeline but with a more edgy soundtrack. I’d have enjoyed knowing David in those 70s and early 80s vignettes that were told in season one. My upbringing was in The South, but I found his NJ/NY stories fascinating. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I’m jonesing for more episodes !!!!
This is seriously
Funny amazing insightful engaging entertaining
With killer music snippets (omg such amazing well positioned music)
Structured like a mix tape with little pericopes that relate to each other into a coherent whole that sweeps you through cultural changes of america in the late 20th century
Personal yet universal not the least bit pretentious. This needs to be turned into a series.
My favorite podcast EVER !!!!!!!!!
I Am The Fly
After listening to the first two eposiodes of I Am The Fly, I can't wait for more! The stories are hilarious (I listened with headphones on and drove my wife crazy with my laughter), poignant, and they transport you back to the pre-internet days, a way simpler time. The on point musical interludes add beautifully to the stories (so well crafted), and the wrtiting and narration make you feel like you're a fly on the wall as well. Kick back, soak in the tunes, and let David take you on a wild ride through the 70's, 80's, and 90's. A total blast!
