“I Barely Got Here” is a collection of stories, conversation and commentary as told by a veteran 24 year police Sergeant. Just like the job, the episodes will be across the board - you’ll laugh, cringe, cry, maybe even learn a little about public safety as you hear stories told in a way that only a cop on the street can tell them.
Happy to be Here, Proud to Serve
Jay is with me to discuss 2 line of duty deaths we had in our department long ago; different in their details, but each impactful. RIP Lt. Bradshaw and Ofc. Hawk, God bless.
Plata o Plomo
All things Mexico is the topic for this episode – border, drugs, kidnapping, cartels, control of the country – from the perspective of a couple retired cops who dealt first hand with every aspect.
A “routine” noise complaint turns into an odds defying deadly force encounter for my friend Ross, who joins me for this episode.
End of Watch
An armed robbery starts a chain of events ending with two men dead, one being an officer from a neighboring agency. RIP Officer Snedigar, and God bless your family, Sir.
B Sucio, Part 2
Second part with Brian, a continuation of our discussion about his experiences working undercover.
B Sucio, Part 1
Another 2 part series, I got Brian back in with me to tell some stories from his days working undercover, buying drugs, outwitting criminals, and maybe playing the part too well.
Exceptional listen. Top crime and Cop Podcast. Highly recommended
This podcast is phenomenal. A lot of podcasts have an awkwardness to them but this one is so smooth and has none of that. The recent episodes with Jay are just incredible. Very intense and impossible to stop listening. The “7 shots” episode is one of, if not the best episode and is just crazy intense. The worst part about this podcast is waiting for a new episode! For a first time podcaster Kevin has a superb talent for doing this and does such a great job because if you have never tried doing a podcast it’s insanely difficult so to be this good this quick just shows true talent.
This podcast is so good and please make more podcasts with Jay, jay is my grandpa.
This is a really good podcast, the last few episodes with Jay’s stories have made this an over the top great podcast! Please keep Jay’s stories coming, hope he’s got more to share. It’s tough waiting two weeks between episodes to find out what’s next.
