Great stories

Courtney and Mason have a genuine rapport that makes their stories and conversations seem unrehearsed and casual, but with a fun narrative pace that draws you in for each episode’s duration. Well worth the download!

C-h-i-c-a-g-o

Over the last 16 months, we’ve all been separated from the randomness, the ennui and, yes, the awkwardness that is inherent to the human experience. Courtney and Mason generously share stories from their past and - to the benefit of their audience - make no effort to burnish their past travails, reconnecting us to our own past and imperfect experiences. All delivered weekly to my headphones, free of charge. Every episode stuffed-full of surprise and delight, striking me square in my belt buckle. (Yes, I’m a Texan😎) Bravo to you both!

One of my all-time favorite podcasts

One of the things that makes this podcast special is Mason and Courtney’s amazing rapport. To describe it, I got one for ya from the legendary bluegrass (their professed favorite music genre) band “Old and in the Way”. During their early practice sessions, Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Vassar Clements, John Kahn and Peter Rowan would start playing a song. They agreed to wander to another part of Jerry Garcia’s home for about 10 minutes and then meet back up again. When they returned, if they were still playing in sync, they knew that they were in their element. The way Mason and Courtney weave together threads of discussions is just like this!
