069: Permanent Decisions - Adoption vs Abortion vs Parenting

069: Permanent Decisions - Adoption vs Abortion vs Parenting

My adoption story from 22 years ago eventually led me into advocating that adoption should be presented as an option for women who find themselves faced with an unplanned pregnancy. And spending time in this space of such a sensitive subject led me to becoming, straight up, an advocate for women to be empowered with access and information to ALL options as they select the permanent decision that THEY feel is best for THEM. I’m an advocate for LOVE. Facing an unplanned pregnancy is freakin’ TOUGH and pushing your agenda on a woman in crisis helps NO ONE. We do not have to agree with people to love them. YES, people we know and love (and also perfect strangers) will make choices we do not agree with. AND, it’s their choice to make. Their life to live. I promise that loving someone through their trials will do wonders for your relationship vs casting your judgment and building a wall with your “yeah, but” perspective.

    068: Be Still

    068: Be Still

Amidst the constant tornado of life as a mom, entrepreneur, comedian, chronic overthinker, cat owner, big dreamer, I have really sunk my teeth into the power and importance of being still. Taking time to stop moving, turn off all the devices, close my eyes and listen to the quiet. By internalizing that opportunity to participate in stillness, I am better equipped to dive back into life without as much overwhelm. It offers a quick reset for you to get in touch with your soul!

067: Launch It, Then Build It

This short ep gives a quick peek back at when I launched my “Yes, And” coaching program for 1:1 clients a few years ago. I had doubts that anyone would even want to work with me, so I made the decision to give myself the permission to TRY. To announce that I was doing coaching BEFORE I finished creating the entire program. And you know what? I’m so glad I did. The product I built along the way was more tailored to what my clients actually needed.

    065: Manifesting & Manning Up

    065: Manifesting & Manning Up

In this episode I recount a discouraging incident where I was reminded about the work we have yet to do in this world to change the way we use words as we encourage and rear our children. And, the lessons I’ve learned about being way too vague in how I visualize my wildest dreams and how I plan to take this awareness and step up my manifestation game.

064: Mental Health - Healing and Helping others with Connection and Comedy

064: Mental Health - Healing and Helping others with Connection and Comedy

MENTAL HEALTH. It's a big scary topic for many, yet it affects SO. MANY. Let's lighten it up. Let's make it more approachable, shall we?

My guest for this episode is a woman I have admired for many years. Emily Richman is a licensed mental health counselor, actor, director, and stand up comic.  In addition to her therapy work with adolescents and adults she regularly directs and performs in theatre productions in Eastern Washington and performs standup wherever they will pay her. She was a speaker for the 2019 TedX in Richland.

She is a pure joy to talk to and a great example of someone who knows how to put in the work towards healing from personal traumas while helping others on their own journey. It's a rare treat to have such a comfortable conversation around a topic that we really all need to be more comfortable with - Mental Health.

You can connect with Emily at http://www.emilyrichman.com/
