Dr. Austin is THE leading psychiatric genetic counselor, studying how to deliver personalized genetic information for psychiatric conditions to individuals. As a past President of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and thought-leader for the field, Dr. Austin has some thoughts about what it means to be a genetic counselor.
