Flash Gordon
Today is 05 December 2023.
Saint Nicholas’ Eve, Sinterklaas, in The Netherlands.
Also, more importantly, 43 years ago, on 05 December 1980, Flash Gordon was released in U.S. theatres.
That’s right. Flash Gordon. 1980.
The greatest film ever made.
If you don’t agree, you’re wrong.
Or you are Tori, who has her own opinion on the subject.
This episode was originally released on 10 June 2020 as:
J and Lazy N Ramble On… “about Flash Gordon! A-ah!”
Episode 47 (aka Season 2, Episode 27)
Sorry, no Tori here.
Audio segments used in this podcast are from the Flash Gordon soundtrack:
“Flash (Single Version)” by Queen
“Vultan’s Theme (Attack of the Hawk Men)” by Queen
“Crash Dive on Mingo City” by Queen
“Flash’s Theme Reprise” by Queen
Also, we did watch Flesh Gordon.
Episode 53 (22 July 2020).
Our theme music is "Back to the Grind" by Billie Stevens.

Corrections:
Nic said “Stan’s Bullpen” (0:16:51) when he, of course, meant “Stan’s Soapbox” but in the heat of the moment conflated that with “Bullpen Bulletins” and misspoke.
Nic also said “El Niña” (0:24:01), coupling a male article and female noun, which might sound sexy but is wrong. El Niño o La Niña habrían sido correctos.

Customer Reviews
Happy to see Kolchak!!
Love X-Files too, thanks for covering both great classics. My one critique is “let this wonderful woman talk”! The male host can be infuriating at times and sweet Tori is very good at handling his snarky remarks.
The truth is still out there
- and Tori and Nic are uncovering it week by week as they rehash and review every episode of The X-Files. While TXF is one of my top shows during my formative years, I appreciate being able to step away from the rose tint of nostalgia and take a more critical look at the structure of each episode. Tori and Nic are engaging, funny, and have opened my awareness to the larger meta of The X-Files.
Not interested anymore
They lost me when they started getting political
