In an interview with Jason Cabaniss, Jonnnah discusses his early conservatory percussion training, his move from Ableton and early synths toward a rhythm-driven hardware setup, and the making of his new LP What They Left on his own Second End Records. He talks through the album's therapeutic origins, collaborating with Pavel Milyakov on Me, With You, and running Second End on admiration rather than strategy. The mix previews a more club-oriented, techno-driven direction he's currently developing, featuring two standout tracks from Polish producer a.sl alongside cuts from Model 500, cv313, and Freund Der Familie — emotional continuity over rhythmic mixing, true to how Jonnnah approaches DJ sets and live shows alike.

Where a Berghain marathon might stretch to five hours, IA MIX 404 compresses that same energy into a compact, club-focused set. The selections lean spontaneous rather than thematic, drawing on what Gräser has been playing out recently - groovier, house-inflected material sitting alongside the tougher techno his name is best known for.

    IA MIX 403 Eric Cloutier

    INTERVIEW > https://inverted-audio.com/mix/eric-cloutier Will Patterson sat down with Eric Cloutier to talk about his debut LP My Friend The Abyss and dig deeper into the man behind Palinoia, published alongside an accompanying all-vinyl mix recorded live at Tresor Berlin. Cloutier reflects on 27 years of DJing and the "quality over quantity" philosophy that's kept Palinoia to just 12 releases in ten years. He discusses the slow, pressure-filled transition from digger to producer, admitting he's his own harshest critic and works entirely in-the-box by choice. The album itself, he reveals, was born out of catharsis, a release valve for an especially brutal couple of years, which explains its unexpected swings into jungle, dub and ambient territory alongside his signature techno. Cloutier also speaks candidly about the current state of club culture, criticising promoters chasing metrics over substance and DJs feeding audiences predictable, algorithm-friendly sets, while affirming his own refusal to chase trends just to stay afloat.

    IA MIX 401 Ulf Eriksson

    INTERVIEW + TRACKLIST > https://inverted-audio.com/mix/ulf-eriksson Malmö DJ and Kontra-Musik label head Ulf Eriksson sits down with us alongside longtime collaborator Andreas Tilliander — known to most as TM404 — to talk through their first joint release, Ulf Och Andreas - EP 1. It's a record ten years in the making: minimal, raw house and techno that bears the marks of their ongoing creative tension — Eriksson pushing for restraint, Tilliander reaching for layers. The conversation is candid, often funny, and revealing about how both artists work. Eriksson also recorded an IA Mix to accompany the release, moving from PST's warm house through Omar-S and Eletun Selona to the duo's own material.

Kirill Vasin, aka Hoavi, delivers exactly that — a mix composed entirely of music made by him and his students. Hoavi is a teacher of music composition, and the philosophy that underpins his work bleeds into everything he touches. His recent album Architectonics on Peak Oil draws on the interlocking rhythmic traditions of gamelan, approaching form and timbre with the rigour of a composer and the intuition of a producer.     IA MIX 399 Rob Clouth

    INTERVIEW + TRACKLIST > https://inverted-audio.com/mix/rob-clouth/ Rob Clouth returns with Cicada, a four-track EP that signals a shift toward a faster, more instinctive creative process, accompanied by an IA MIX that blurs the line between DJing and production. Built in Ableton at 160–170 BPM, the mix layers over 25 tracks using edits, stem separation and rapid transitions, resulting in a dense, high-energy session that reflects his current maximalist approach. In conversation with Ryan Pivovar, Clouth discusses moving away from rigid concepts toward a more playful, process-driven workflow. Rather than over-curating, he’s focused on momentum, embracing spontaneity and letting ideas flow more freely. The interview also explores his collaboration with Max Cooper, his thoughts on AI as both a creative tool and a challenge, and Noise Canvas, his self-built sound design software. Immersed in a super dubby, murky atmosphere, the set gradually gives way to a handful of 4/4 excursions towards the closing stretch. Keeping things deliberately minimal, the live setup centres around Ableton, recently expanded with Intech Studio MIDI controllers and coloured by a hands-on outboard effects chain. As Intertoto notes, even subtle shifts in processing can dramatically reshape the outcome - a philosophy that permeates the mix’s fluid, zoned-out energy. Recorded in the studio with headphones on, this is deep immersion: “some proper zoned out business…” In our interview below, we speak with Intertoto about studio gear, the father of modern geology, the importance of texture, and the role of controlled randomness.
