Habakkuk "The Prophet Who Almost Lost His Balance"

What do we do when God’s plan does not make sense, our prayers seem unanswered, and the circumstances around us begin to shake our faith? Pastor Timothy walks through the book of Habakkuk, one of the most honest and relatable prophets in Scripture. Habakkuk looked at the violence, injustice, and corruption surrounding him and cried out, “How long, O Lord?” God answered—but His answer was not what Habakkuk expected. Through this powerful conversation between the prophet and God, we learn that the Lord is not intimidated by our honest questions. When our faith feels unsteady, we are invited to stand our watch, seek God’s perspective, and cling tightly to Him. Habakkuk’s name means “to embrace,” “to cling,” or “one who wrestles.” His journey reminds us that wrestling with God can ultimately teach us to hold onto Him more firmly. Even when everything appears to be falling apart, the believer can confidently declare: “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” —Habakkuk 3:18 The circumstances may not immediately change, but God can strengthen our feet like those of a deer, enabling us to stand securely and walk faithfully through difficult and uncertain places. Key Scriptures: • Habakkuk 1–3 • Habakkuk 2:4 — “The just shall live by faith.” • Habakkuk 3:17–19 • Psalm 73 • Romans 1:17 • Galatians 3:11 • Hebrews 10:38 No matter what burden, disappointment, loss, or unanswered question you are facing, steady yourself on Christ. Stand, watch, listen, and trust that God is still working—even when His ways are beyond what we can currently understand. Guest Speaker: Pastor Timothy Bachleitner Date:7/12/2026 ComeToFreedom.com
