If you’ve ever wondered what it would sound like if a group of wildly talented comedians and razor-sharp tabletop players locked themselves in a room and decided to absolutely perfect the actual play format, allow me to introduce Glass Cannon Podcast. I came in through their Shadowdark campaign and, like a fool, thought I’d “just check out a few episodes.” Cut to me three days later, deep in the back catalog, muttering rules clarifications to myself and laughing like an unhinged goblin at 1 a.m. These folks play a variety of TTRPGs, and they play them their way. Rules are respected, bent, occasionally suplexed when needed, and are always in service of the table’s chemistry. The result is a perfect storm of tight roleplay, genuine tension, and comedic timing so good it should be illegal. The Glass Cannon crew somehow manages to make actual play tragic, hilarious, and deeply personal…sometimes all in the same minute. Every episode feels like hanging out with friends who are smarter than you, funnier than you, and definitely rolling better than you.
