Jolie shares her testimony of being raised in an atheistic home, coming to Christ at age 18, and developing a deep love for Scripture that ultimately shaped her ministry and writing. Drawing heavily from Ezekiel 16, Jolie explains why she sees striking parallels between ancient Israel and modern America. Israel experienced extraordinary blessing but repeatedly turned away from God—and Jolie believes America and much of the American church face a similar spiritual crisis. The conversation explores the dangers of complacency, materialism, cultural distraction, misplaced trust in political and religious leaders, addiction, idolatry, and spiritual lukewarmness. Jolie also draws a compelling comparison to Samson, who was called to be a deliverer but fell asleep in the lap of Delilah.
