Restitutio

Sean P Finnegan

Restitutio is a Christian theology podcast designed to get you thinking about biblical theology, church history, and apologetics in an effort to recover the original Christian faith of Jesus and the apostles apart from all of the later traditions that settled on it like so much sediment, obscuring and mutating primitive Christianity into dogma and ritual. Pastor Sean Finnegan, the host of Restitutio, holds to a Berean approach to truth: that everyone should have an open mind, but check everything against the bible to see how it measures up. If you are looking for biblical unitarian resources, information about the kingdom of God, or teachings about conditional immortality, Restitutio is the Christian podcast for you!

    672. New LHIM Churches in Kenya (Andrew Ondari)

As many of you know, I’m not only the host of this podcast. My main job is working for Living Hope International Ministries, which is a network of churches, home fellowships, and individuals seeking to make authentic disciples of Christ. In addition to my local church responsibilities, I also travel on behalf of LHIM to visit churches within our network, help start new ones, and affiliate with existing churches that share the same beliefs. This brings me to Andrew Ondari of Kisii, Kenya. He grew up Mormon but eventually came to question the legitimacy of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. After he decided the Bible was the only book he needed for faith and practice, he came across our ministry website (lhim.org). As he studied the content on the site, he came to believe in the kingdom of God coming on earth, hell as destruction rather than eternal torment, and Jesus as the human Messiah instead of a God-man. Having felt the call to ministry, he started a church on a piece of property near his home and began connecting with other pastors in his area. A team of us went to visit him a few weeks back and while I was there, I recorded this interview. I hope you enjoy hearing his story and learning about what incredible opportunities are opening up in Kenya.   Listen on Spotify   Listen on Apple Podcasts —— Links —— Get the transcript of this episode More about Living Hope International Ministries available here Support Restitutio by donating here Join our Facebook group, follow on X @RestitutioSF or Instagram @Sean.P.Finnegan or Threads @sean.p.finnegan Leave a 90 second voice message via SpeakPipe with questions or comments and we may play it out on the air Who is Sean Finnegan?  Read his bio here Check out Finnegan’s books on Amazon. 666. I Quit Weed and Video Games to Serve God (Jeremy Martin)

Jeremy Martin is a complicated man. Although raised in a Christian home, he chose a different path. At eighteen years old, he embraced the party lifestyle of drinking alcohol and using drugs of various kinds. Before long, he found himself sucked into a criminal lifestyle, including an eight-year stretch where he earned his living from crime. At 25 he had to flee Arizona in order to escape murder. At this point in the story, I bet you’re expecting me to say something like, “Then Jeremy met God and changed his life and has been faithfully serving him ever since.” Nope. That’s not how the story goes. It’s way more complicated than that. I’ll have to let him explain it. Rest assured though, you’re in for a treat. Jeremy shows us that God doesn’t quit on people, even if people quit on him. He shows us that it’s never too late to start serving God. And he shows us that true satisfaction isn’t found in distractions like marijuana and video games, but in doing good for others.   Listen on Spotify   Listen on Apple Podcasts —— Links —— Read Jeremy Martin’s blog posts as SeekGroveLove Get the transcript of this episode Support Restitutio by donating here Join our Facebook group, follow on X @RestitutioSF or Instagram @Sean.P.Finnegan or Threads @sean.p.finnegan Leave a 90 second voice message via SpeakPipe with questions or comments and we may play it out on the air Who is Sean Finnegan?  Read his bio here Check out Finnegan’s books on Amazon.
