    Dr Tony Klug has written extensively about Israeli-Palestinian issues since the early 1970s. His doctoral thesis was on the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. He is a former senior advisor on the Middle East to the Oxford Research Group and has been a consultant to the Palestine Strategy Group and the Israeli Strategic Forum. He was one of the first advocates of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel in the wake of the 1967 war.     RISING is an intimate window into a society grappling with trauma and the people rising to protect its moral compass and democratic foundations. For years people around the world have been exposed to imagesof war and destruction from Israel. RISING reveals the largely unseen story of more than one million Israelis protesting against the current far-right government fighting to defend democracy, stop the endless war, and preserve humanity under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. I interviewed the film's writer/director/producer Esther Takac. The AZYC is the roof-body organisation of nine Zionist Youth Movements which operate in Australia and New Zealand. The AZYC seeks to represent, support, and connect Zionist youth irrespective of political and religious ideology.
