    Jewish violence in the West Bank is increasingly raising questions not only about Palestinian safety, but about Israel’s own security, the authority of the IDF and the risk of wider escalation. Where does extremist violence end and a broader security threat begin, and can Israel contain it? Maj. Gen. (res.) Gadi Shamni, former commander of the IDF Central Command and member of Commanders for Israel's Security, spoke to Media Central about the disconcerting situation, the security challenges it presents, and the potential for further escalation.     An Israeli At Heart

    Levy Schneider was born and grew up in Israel to Holocaust survivors. He served in the IDF as an officer and studied Practical Engineering of Electronics. He combined his love of agriculture and technology at Motorola where he specialised in computerised irrigation and digital farming.  After Motorola he served as the CEO of Netafim in South Africa since 1992 and Netafim Australia since 2005. In 2023 Netafim acquired a Digital Farming company in Melbourne named Square One Laboratories, at which time Levy decided to step down as the CEO of Netafim ANZ and manage Square One Laboratories.     Professor Ghil'ad Zuckermann, D.Phil. (Oxford), Ph.D. (Cambridge), is listed among Australia's top 30 Living Legends of Research (2024) by The Australian newspaper. In 2023 he was awarded the Rubinlicht Prize for his outstanding contribution to Yiddish scholarship. Appointed Massada Fellow at Worcester College (University of Oxford) (2026), he will deliver the 10th Edward Ullendorff Memorial Lecture on 15 October 2026 and Massada Public Seminar on 19 October 2026.     Jerusalem Youth Orchestra East & West, Antisemitic Amnesty International

    Some further remarks following the debate last week between Chris Sidoti, UN Commission of Inquiry member, and Dr Brian Cox,  military law specialist that dealt with the contention in the UN COI report that Israel has been deliberately targeting Palestinian children. Despite the blatant rise in antisemitism, Amnesty International Australia, which claims to “challenge injustice wherever it happens,” has consistently vilified and actively opposed measures intended to protect Australian Jews. (0:31-13:17)Mark Kuperholz is a dedicated Israel advocate who endeavours to expose disinformation wherever it occurs. He has done much research into how Amnesty International goes about its dirty business. (13:17-26:25) The Jerusalem Youth Orchestra East & West, known as TJO is an Israeli orchestra led by conductor Tom Cohen that blends Western orchestral music with Middle Eastern, North African, and Andalusian traditions bringing together young musicians recruited from the Western Galilee. TJO has shared the stage with major Israeli artists, including Matti Caspi, Danny Sanderson, and Ehud Banai, and is due to perform at the Concordia Summit in New York in September. This week 'The Israel Connexion' was probing into a very prominent anti-Israel report in a way that hasn't been done by other media that have accepted it on face value because it has the imprimatur of the United Nations. Moreover, the amount of copious detail in the report has meant that the onus of doing a proper analysis of its content has been very daunting and so the response to it has largely been superficial. I was moderating a rare discussion bringin together two opposing sides to consider the allegations against Israel by the Independent International Commission on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel (COI). 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐭𝐢, a COI commissioner who is an Australian expert on international human rights law, a lawyer and advocate, a former Human Rights Commissioner, and a former commissioner of the Australian Law Reform Commission debated with 𝐃𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐋. 𝐂𝐨𝐱, a Cornell Law School lecturer, visiting scholar at the University of Ottawa, and retired U.S. Army officer with 22 years' service — including seven as a military lawyer and deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.Hear two different perspectives going head-to-head on one of the most contested reports about the conflict.
