**LETHAL MULLET PODCAST: Episode #324 - RAVEN (1992-1993)** > Aloha, assassins. Nevermore. Live from Quinlan's Cantina in the Gold Coast of Australia, it's time again for your dose of action cinema history from the 80s, 90s, and beyond with the Lethal Mullet Podcast This week the Mullet hits 324 episodes and we're celebrating with the most Magnum-style Hawaiian Hunter-Thing TV show you never watched - **RAVEN**. ### What is Raven? **Raven** is an American martial arts drama series that originally aired on CBS from June 19, 1992 to April 30, 1993. Created by Frank Lupo (The A-Team, Hunter) and produced by Columbia Pictures Television. The setup is pure 90s action perfection: Jonathon Raven is a ninja-trained former Special Forces agent, retired in Hawaii to search for his long-lost son. Avoiding assassins sent to kill him by his former associates in the Black Dragon Clan, he uses his skills to help those in need. He's assisted by his former military buddy turned eccentric private investigator, Herman "Ski" Jablonski. When Jonathon was 12, his parents were killed by the Black Dragon. He trained with them for years to master their lethal skill and then use it against them for vengeance. Now he's in Honolulu, trying to find the son he never knew, with every Black Dragon hitman on the islands trying to end his bloodline. Starring: * Jeffrey Meek as Jonathon Raven - full mullet, black ninja gi, swords and shuriken * Lee Majors as Herman "Ski" Jablonski - TV's Six Million Dollar Man in a loud Hawaiian shirt * Andy Bumatai as The Big Kahuna As seen in this week's promo art - pink neon RAVEN logo, Diamond Head at sunset, palm trees, ninja vs. PI vibes - it's Cobra Kai meets Magnum P.I. meets American Ninja. ### On This Episode We Get Into: * Why Raven is the ultimate lost early-90s action show - 2 seasons, 20 episodes (1 unaired), 46-minute pure practical action * Jeffrey Meek: the most underrated martial arts lead who deserved to be Van Damme-big * Lee Majors drinking, brawling, and stealing every scene as Ski * Frank Lupo's post-A-Team formula and why CBS buried it in summer '92 * Ninja in Hawaii: How this show is basically if Frank Dux moved to Magnum's guest house * Black Dragon Clan lore, lost sons, and the 90-minute pilot - Raven: Return of the Black Dragons * Stunts, sword fights, and squibs - we love practical stunts, real squibs, and heroes who look like they have actually been punched ### The Mullet Verdict: Is Raven a stone-cold classic that should have gone 5 seasons, or is it beautiful beautiful trash that only we could love? Does Ski deserve his own spin-off? Greetings Mulleteers! This is 324 - thanks for riding with us from the VHS bin to Diamond Head. NEVER GO FULL MULLET.
