I decided to start following football and the Premier League in 2020, and I made a simple rule for myself: the first team I saw on TV would be my team. As fortune would have it (or misfortune, depending on how you look at it), my choices that day were Crystal Palace and Everton. Since my kids’ names—Everett and Emerson—sound a lot like Everton, the decision was basically made for me. It wasn’t until the harsh 10-point deduction in the 21/22 season that I truly got behind the club, but since then I’ve been all in. This podcast has been my go-to resource for learning the game and understanding the nuances of Premier League football. Between the deep dives into the special history of Goodison Park, the absolute gem of a human that is Séamus “Seamy” Coleman, the legends who’ve worn the shirt, and even getting used to the heavy accents of the lads on the pod, I can officially say: I’m an Evertonian. I look forward to this podcast every week and hope to make the trip to Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock someday. Cheers from wine country, California!
