    The Watcher [NETFLIX] Review: Seven Episodes, No Answer

    Seven episodes of suspects and The Watcher still couldn’t give Clay the closure he wanted. He reviews Netflix’s Bobby Cannavale and Naomi Watts mystery, the unsolved true story behind it, and why its fictionalised ending earned 3.5/10—even with his extra point for a true story. Also: Kenny learns to ride on two wheels and helps deliver Bung Bung Coffee flyers. Spoilers and explicit language.

    Normal [PRIME VIDEO] Review: All Violence, No Plot

    Bob Odenkirk shoots his way through Normal, a Prime Video action-comedy with entertaining violence and barely enough plot to sustain a plot hole. Clay also survives a $264 Henley Beach lunch, identifies a suspected college thief and debates whether children’s birthday parties have finally become enjoyable. Snack pairing: Froot Loops. Final rating: 5.5/10.

    Anaconda [PRIME VIDEO] Review: A Killer Python Was the Highlight

    Jack Black and Paul Rudd should be able to make a giant-snake comedy work, but Anaconda left Clay with weak effects, a thinner story and almost nothing worth remembering. Also: Clay lands a speaking role in a movie, Kenny discovers Derrick Rose, and a king brown snake ends the Couchboys’ pool era. Final rating: 4.5 Killer Pythons out of 10.

    Is 72 Hours worth watching? Clay reviews Kevin Hart’s Netflix comedy about a desperate middle-aged executive crashing a Gen Z bachelor party, including its Hangover-style chaos, young comedy cast and the heavily discussed Katt Williams appearance.     Your Friends & Neighbors [APPLE TV]: Jon Hamm Robs the Rich

    Clay reviews Your Friends & Neighbors, the Emmy-nominated Apple TV drama starring Jon Hamm as a disgraced hedge-fund manager who starts robbing the wealthy people in his neighbourhood. The show opens up a bigger conversation about money, class, insecurity, keeping up appearances and why growing up without much can completely scramble your relationship with success. Clay also covers his copyright dispute with a computer, Adelaide’s new aquatic centre, an unexpectedly expensive trip to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, seeing Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, AI data centres, basketball coaches and spending the rent money on Haigh’s chocolate.     Is Happiness the darkest comedy ever made—or the funniest film you’ll feel guilty recommending? Clay reviews Todd Solondz’s controversial 1998 cult film, including Philip Seymour Hoffman’s painfully uncomfortable performance, the brilliant opening breakup and the loneliness hiding beneath its most disturbing characters. There’s also a failed Keith Robinson interview, Patrice O’Neal movie lore, a 5,000-calorie bakery incident and the rapidly disappearing art of knowing your neighbours.     Jason Statham is back as a retired elite operative with a violent past—and somehow nobody leaves him alone.This week, Clay reviews Shelter (2026), the Jason Statham action thriller now streaming on Prime Video. Is it worth watching, or is it just The Beekeeper with a lighthouse?Clay breaks down the remote-island opening, Statham’s one-man war against MI6, the car chase, nightclub fight, familiar action-movie formula and the strange comfort of knowing exactly what a Jason Statham film will deliver.     The Old Guard 2 Review: Netflix Made a 100-Minute Trailer

    Welcome to the Poddy makes it to a second consecutive week as Clay reviews Netflix’s The Old Guard 2. The first film had genuine franchise potential. The sequel gives us Charlize Theron, Uma Thurman, immortal warriors and centuries of revenge—then makes it feel like a 100-minute trailer for another movie. Clay also opens two sold-out James McCann shows, takes over an unattended bar, pays $39 for parking, gets out-negotiated over a fine, forgets seven minutes of material onstage and discovers that Japan has somehow become the podcast’s biggest audience. Final rating: 3 immortal mullets out of 10.
