Israel Policy Pod

Smart people omitting necessary coverage and info. They go on and on about the Machiavellian government and why the war should stop without any attention to the big questions - how do you stop a a war with people intent on killing you? With people who have no desire for peace? Who will not release hostages unless bad guys stay armed and in control as your neighbor? Where is the coverage? They need at least equal time to these views, or they have lost the listener to their seeming naivety and ignorance. A sad loss because these are likable, intelligent people. Get some wisdom and stronger coffee.

The rotation of guests on the show is excellent - from journalists, policy experts, military and government representatives, and more. Good hearing from Israeli as well as Arab perspectives. Their coverage of the current situation and discussion of future scenarios in the region is in depth and thoughtful. I look forward to listening every week and getting a little more of a handle on a very complex situation!

These commentators ignore whole swaths of information and it detracts from what could be a helpful policy conversation. There are so many examples. Here are some but far from all: 1. Biden has encouraged Iran’s aggression of Hamas/Houthi/Hezbollah through endless billions in sanctions relief, and blowing up the Abraham accords 2. Biden’s State Dept has generated so many mixed messages including many warnings to Israel to not attack Gaza including ON Oct. 7 th 3. Pretense that Biden is running anything in this time period 4. Pretense there’s a clear distinction between Hamas fighters and Gaza citizens Overall disappointed but helpful to understand just how much antipathy the PM faces not just from the US Democrats but the domestic media.

Great listen and insightfully helpful
