    4. The Perfect Image Of God

Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com What if seeing God more clearly could completely change the way you see yourself and what you believe is possible in your life? In Episode 4 of In His Image, we’re going to explore The Perfect Image of God and discover why Jesus is more than the One who came to save us. He is the perfect revelation of what God is really like, and He shows us what it looks like for a human being to live in harmony with God. From the beginning, mankind was created in God’s image and likeness. We were created to represent Him on the earth and express His character through the way we live, love, make decisions, and influence the world around us. But when our concept of God becomes distorted, it affects how we see ourselves, how we interpret Scripture, and ultimately how we live. Jesus changes all of that. Colossians 1:15 tells us that Jesus is “the image of the invisible God.” Instead of trying to understand God through religious tradition, fear, or our own imagination, we can look at Jesus and see what God is really like. And there’s an incredible personal benefit to this: when you see God as He really is, you begin to understand who you were created to be. Jesus showed us what a person yielded to the Holy Spirit can look like. He demonstrated God’s character, goodness, authority, and love in everyday life. Then He told His followers, “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also” (John 14:12). This isn’t about trying harder to imitate Jesus. It’s about taking the limits off God, allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you, and discovering what becomes possible when your heart comes into harmony with the image and likeness of God.

    2. What Scares The Devil

Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com What scares the devil? Most Christians could probably give some kind of biblical answer to that question. But knowing the right answer and understanding what it means in real life are two very different things. In Episode 2 of In His Image, I want to take you deeper into what it actually means when God says, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion” (Genesis 1:26). In the ancient world, an image represented the authority of a king. When a king conquered a territory, he would place his image there as a reminder of who ruled that land. Think about what that means when God says you were created in His image. You were created to represent Him on planet Earth. You were created to live in harmony with His character, His purposes, and His authority. And that begins to answer the question: What scares the devil? The devil doesn’t want you discovering who God created you to be. He doesn’t want you understanding the authority God gave mankind. And he certainly doesn’t want you learning how to live that out in your everyday life. We can quote that we have the mind of Christ, but if we don’t think like Jesus, that Scripture isn’t transforming our lives. We can know what the Bible says about our identity and authority, but until those truths become real in our hearts, they remain information instead of transformation. This is where In His Image starts becoming incredibly practical. God didn’t create you to spend your life trying to become powerful enough to defeat the devil. He created you in His image. The question is whether you will discover what that means and begin living from that reality.

    6. Resurrection Life

Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com For the past several weeks, we've been exploring what I believe is the most pivotal event in all of history, and even more importantly, the most pivotal event in all of eternity. Everything God has made available to us through Jesus is rooted in what happened during those three days between the Cross and the Resurrection, and ultimately His ascension to the right hand of the Father. Most believers know the story of the crucifixion. Most believe that Jesus died and rose again. But very few of us have ever stopped to ask, "What does God say actually happened during those three days, and what does that mean for my life today?" That's what this series is all about. My desire isn't to challenge your faith. It's to strengthen it. Sometimes that means we have to set aside traditions we've accepted without question and come back to the simple testimony of Scripture. My prayer is that you'll approach these messages with an open heart and allow God's Word to become the foundation for what you believe. The Bible tells us that we are saved by believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead. But salvation is so much bigger than simply going to heaven one day. The Greek word for salvation includes healing, deliverance, protection, wholeness, peace, preservation, and every aspect of the life Jesus purchased for us through His finished work. As we continue through this series, I believe you'll begin to see the Cross, the grave, the Resurrection, and the Throne from an entirely new perspective. More importantly, you'll discover how every aspect of your faith is meant to rest on what Jesus accomplished, not on your performance, your feelings, or religious tradition.
