The podcast is mildly entertaining, but actually buying a bike from them has been a nightmare because they misrepresent the products in their listings online, don’t assemble them properly, don’t remedy their mistakes despite acknowledging them, and their customer service is atrocious.
I ordered a bike (a Forbidden Dreadnought v2) on 9/12/26 that was listed as a 29er. When it arrived, I found out that it had shipped as a mixed wheel bike with a 27.5” rear wheel. To make matters worse, they had not installed the lower chain guide, they had installed a chain that was too short, and did not set up the derailleur with the SRAM Transmission setup key in the correct position. Luckily I know how to fix all of their mistakes and have the tools to do so, otherwise I would have had to pay a local bike shop to do it for me. But I still had to pay my LBS for a new chain for the bike to be rideable, because as of today, 10/20/26 (more than five weeks after I purchased the bike), Worldwide Cyclery has still not delivered even the most minimal remedy for all of their mistakes.
I’ve tried calling their customer service line multiple times and have been on hold for over 15 minutes each time and have never gotten the chance to speak to anyone: I’ve either ended up sent to voicemail or been hung up on the one time someone actually picked up. Their hold message also encourages you to text them, but that doesn’t get a response in less than 24 hours, either. When they do email you, they send it from an email address that you can’t reply to, so there’s no way to directly contact the person that is supposedly trying to help you. The last time I heard from them was on 10/5/26 when I was informed that they were working with their supplier to get me the correct dropouts to convert the bike to a 29er and a chain with the correct number of links. Since then I haven’t received any updates and I was given no way to directly contact the person who sent that last email.
The reason I bought the bike from Worldwide Cyclery was specifically because they had it listed as a 29er and I have a nice set of wheels that I intended to put on it and the stock wheels would be a backup. But those wheels won’t fit on this bike as delivered. This was mentioned to them when I first contacted them about their listing being incorrect. I also mentioned that I had had to buy a new chain from my LBS and had to install the lower chain guide and correctly setup the derailleur myself. But they haven’t offered anything at all to make up for the piss poor job they’ve done on every aspect of this purchase: the incorrect listing, the improperly built bike, and the abysmal customer service. Hell, I didn’t even bother to mention that one of the disc brake calipers arrived with a scratch (probably due to the shoddy packing job they did when shipping) because it was still functional and because it’s an enduro bike and was bound to get scratched up anyway.
Moral of the story, avoid this company at all costs. I’ve ordered bikes online from Fanatik Bikes, Over the Edge Fruita, Allied Cycles, Revel Bikes, and Competitive Cyclist and every one of those bikes were all built and setup properly as well as being delivered without any scratches due to better/more careful packing, not to mention having better customer service. Even buying bikes off of eBay was better experience than this.
