After 37 years practicing orthopedic surgery, serving in medical leadership positions and teaching as a Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Southern California, Dr. Garland experienced another side of achievement: criticism, professional isolation and attempts to undermine success as his own profile grew.
