Is the Ethiopian Bible More Complete? 81 Books vs. 66 | The Well Podcast SS00E9

Can you really trust the Bible? In this episode of The Well Podcast, Pastor Phil Hopper and host Les Norman answer your biggest questions about the reliability of Scripture, the differences between biblical canons, and the controversies around missing or disputed passages. They explain why the Ethiopian Bible includes 81 books while most Protestant Bibles have 66, and respond to claims about the Apocrypha and "banned books."  Pastor Phil shares the criteria the early church used to recognize the canon of Scripture, and why he believes "cut-and-paste theology" undermines the authority of the Bible. Listeners will also learn how to study Scripture in context and compare Scripture with Scripture.  This episode will encourage you to discern truth and grow in confidence that God has preserved His Word for every generation.    📌 Episode Mentions:  Discipleship Groups (D1 & D2): https://abundant-life.com/get-involved/whats-next/next-steps/discipleship-groups/ Free Bible Study Resources from Abundant Life: https://abundant-life.com/resources/series-studies/   📌 Supplemental Resources:  This Week’s Sermon: https://youtube.com/live/haM28C0zvfw  The Making of a Man Sermon Series: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDVRvoN17Azo&si=24NX_JIZbL_jcTuT   -- Find Your Next Step ⤵ https://abundant-life.com/get-involved/whats-next/next-steps/   Do you want to see your life changed by Jesus? ⤵ https://abundant-life.com/resources/who-is-jesus-to-you/   Connect With Us ⤵ • Facebook: https://facebook.com/abundantlifels • Instagram: https://instagram.com/abundantlifels • Website: https://abundant-life.com   Connect With Pastor Phil On Social Media ⤵ • Facebook: www.facebook.com/philhopperkc • Instagram: www.instagram.com/philhopperkc   Listen to The Well Podcast⤵ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5wadnywAMEK7c0E1qatMoY?si=SjH6Ko7VR3OoHrRy1yYLlQ&nd=1&dlsi=395ae55d95ac4b11 • Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-well/id1233267223 • YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR50sV854C2hogfBmv7YogvCjiNYLz9a2   Watch More Sermons: https://abundant-life.com/sermons/   Get additional teaching to go with sermons: https://abundant-life.com/sermons   Do you want to see your life changed by Jesus? How does faith come alive when you stand where Scripture happened? In this episode of The Well Podcast, Pastor Phil Hopper and host Les Norman take you through Israel and the Holy Land, showing how biblical truth is rooted in real history and biblical archaeology. From the Garden of Gethsemane and Caiaphas' palace to Caesarea Philippi and Megiddo, they share how walking where Jesus prayed, taught, was crucified, and rose again turns faith into sight.  They discuss what the Dead Sea Scrolls reveal about the reliability of the Bible, why Israel's restoration as a nation matters for Bible history and prophecy, and what the Valley of Armageddon means for believers today. Why Did God Allow the Serpent? Adam, Free Will, and Spiritual Leadership | The Well Podcast S12E01

Why did God allow the serpent in the garden, and what does Adam's story teach men about spiritual leadership? In this episode of The Well Podcast, Pastor Phil Hopper and host Les Norman explore Genesis 3 and the cost of "quiet failure," when men shrink back from leading and their families feel the impact for generations.  Pastor Phil explains the difference between condemnation and conviction, why past mistakes don't have to define your future, and how God's design for free will, love, and grace points to Jesus, the "Second Adam."  This episode encourages men to reject passivity, lead courageously, and walk confidently in God's grace, whatever their past.    📌 Episode Mentions:  Men’s Ministry at Abundant Life: https://abundant-life.com/get-involved/community/mens/   📌 Supplemental Resources:  This Week’s Sermon: https://youtube.com/live/YHsZ38sS7uY Making of a Man Sermon Series: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDVRvoN17Azo&si=24NX_JIZbL_jcTuT -- Find Your Next Step ⤵ https://abundant-life.com/get-involved/whats-next/next-steps/   Do you want to see your life changed by Jesus?
