World Of Wongie July 2017 - A Ghost Story

So the WoW podcasts are gonna be a semi-regular thing now! Outside of the film festivals that I attend, I'll be posting whenever there's some interesting stuff to talk about as I experience them myself. Recently I was invited to visit A Ghost Store in conjunction with the wonderful movie A Ghost Story (dir: David Lowery) and was surprised to see the director there checking out the surreal shop that custom makes Ghost sheets for you to inhabit. I grabbed him for a few minutes and tried not to fanboy him too much since I was a big fan of the movie. We did manage to talk about our mutual love of the Hirokazu Koreeda classic film Afterlife, David's favorite shot from the movie (cause it sure is beautiful to look at) and his beliefs on death itself. It's over! The awards have been handed out! The 70th Cannes Film Festival is done! Which is why I brought back my co-star Irene Crespo to help me break down the winning films ("The Square", "120 Beats per Minute", "Loveless") We also list our fave movies of the fest... Wongie continues to discuss with his fellow journalists on the 2017 Cannes Film Festival from a behind the scenes perspective! Day 2: With a few movies in the bag, Wongie talks to Ward about Todd Haynes "Wonderstruck", Vanessa Redgrave's doc "Sea Sorrow" and then returns at the end about a party that the two were both invited to. Then Irene chats about her thoughts on Andrey Zvyagintsev's "Loveless" which has people already claiming a prize at the end of the fest, and Takashi Miike's 100th film "Blade of the Immortal". Finally Nadia and Wongie walk along the piers looking at big yachts while breaking down the town of Cannes to the un-initiated. It's alot to take in, but thank goodness my co-stars are filled with entertaining knowledge!
