I love this show and would recommend it to anyone, especially those who enjoy indie/pop or are looking to diversify their music library. The track selections are always stellar; Matt has a gift for breaking down how emotional hooks ‘work’ in a song, and finding musically interesting moments. I really appreciate Matt’s thoughtful commentary, and how he shares about his own life experiences, since as a musician I’m always trying to understand why certain lyrics resonate so well with listeners. It’s also really refreshing that a lot of the featured music is made by people who are otherwise underrepresented in the industry. Don’t sleep on this podcast— your playlists will thank you!

I absolutely love the format of this show. Matt, everyone’s favorite heartfelt chill-bro, and a featured guest catch up on each other’s playlists they’ve made for each other. They talk about what they liked and what they didn’t. It’s listening to then analyze each song on a different level and compare notes, looking at the music in a different way. Matt’s goal of entertaining listeners, learning new music, and generally brighting people’s day is perfect. Matt is perfect. Please subscribe. It’s not a chore, as episodes come out roughly once a month. Very fun!
