The Gut Loving Podcast: All about IBS & the low FODMAP diet

The Gut Loving Podcast is all about irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and the low FODMAP diet. The low FODMAP diet is a relatively new approach to effectively treat IBS symptoms and is scientifically backed up by a vast number of medical studies. The Gut Loving Podcast is hosted by Laura Tilt (an experienced Dietitian in the UK specialising in IBS and the low FODMAP diet) and Huelya Akyuez, patient and creator of project sezamee - gut loving food (video recipes and low FODMAP events) after living with IBS for over 20 years. Together, Laura and Huelya started The Gut Loving Podcast to help others with IBS get clear on the facts - and learn more about how to take control of their condition. Remember: Don’t start the low FODMAP diet without consulting your doctor or low FODMAP specialised dietitian first. Great Topics and Sound in New Season

This podcast has improved a lot. The sound quality, direction of the podcasts and the addition of guests. The back and forth between the two podcast hosts could be improved. Huelya seems less direct in her conversation style on the podcast and less connected to the episode being discussed. Being the host with IBS, Huelya seems like she isn’t proactive with her own health management and engaging with the topics through doing or experimenting before the episode to add more to the podcast. I have had IBS for 15 years and enjoy Laura’s more direct, knowledgeable and prepared approach to speaking about the topic. The probiotics episode was very informative and helpful. If I can make a suggestion, please change the theme song. :/ It’s a little abrasive and anxiety inducing, not great for soothing IBS listeners.
More Laura. Less huelya.

I personally can’t thank these ladies enough. They have been a god sent. I’ve been struggling with IBS since A kid. Don’t know how it came. I just remember always having stomach pains. I Never got diagnosed though. When I was diagnosed this year(Age 33), I was given some vague information. GI doctors stink lol. That being said, I suffered on my own into a depression essentially. Then I ran into this podcast. I just finished season one and I’m literally listening to all their advice . You would be dumb not to. I’m currently going to see a dietitian trained in the low FODMAP diet. I found her via the Monash app provided in the handy dandy show notes. Thank you ladies! Your the support system I needed. If this dietitian doesn’t work out I’m going straight to Lauren. She’s the bomb.com Advisory*** Please don’t skip any seasons. So what if the sound quality is subpar in the earlier season. Their dealing out gems free of charge. I wish I could tip theses ladies for their open free knowledge. Their like my support system and they don’t even know it. Huelya is hilarious and so down to earth . Subscribe to the podcast end of story!!!
I loved this!!

This discussion prompted me to try kefir. After just a few days of drinking this delicious product (5 oz first thing in the morning), my digestion has improved 100%!
Very informative for those with IBS

I’ve been suffering with IBS for 10+ years. Just in these 10 years the knowledge in the medical community has changed significantly. This podcast covers a wide range of aspects about IBS. It has motivated me to finally go back to the doctor about different treatment options for my IBS and to try and approach my IBS treatment from multiple aspects. The audio is bad towards the beginning episodes but if you can just stick with it as the knowledge is beneficial.
Thankful!

As a parent of a child who is currently struggling with gut pain that cannot be diagnosed I greatly appreciate this podcast. Laura and Huelya work to weave together insights from a professional (Laura, dietician) and personal (Huelya, IBS patient) perspective. I appreciate the duality of this communication, and I feel it offers a good balance of education with practical insights. I am trying the low FODMAP diet under a nutritionist’s care, and this show augments my understanding of the complexities of this new way of eating.
Can’t hear you
