Hi Liam!

Liam asked for a review on twitter, so here it is. It’s an excellent podcast whose hosts share an excellent on-air chemistry, that manages to get a diverse ranges of guests from across the housing political spectrum— Scott Wiener and Michael Weinstein; senate senators and mayors; real estate interests and tenant activists. That coupled with Liam and Matt’s knowledge of both Sacramento’s legislative machinery and possible policy prescriptions makes for an engaging and excellent show.

Informative, fun, important context for Californians who live with our high costs

Great podcast - it bumps to the top of my queue with every new release.
Count me in for both team banter and length, because it allows each episode to dig in without getting dull. I like when Matt and Liam have guests on opposing sides of an issue on the same episode (the labor leader and the developer, YIMBY and one of the equity groups who was mad about SB827). I like their expertise in how Sacramento works.

When a pollster called my house recently and asked me to define, "in my own words" Prop 13, I felt like it was a moment that Matt and Liam had been training me for. I squared up and took a huge swing at the question. And if I do say so myself, I crushed it.

Easy and Entertaining Way to Be Informed

I listened to this podcast because they had an episode on rent control, a topic I wanted to learn more about. Little did I know I'd be slipping into a rabbit hole filled with wit, humor, and avocados galore. I really appreciate the extent to which they break down recent legislation and changes in the housing world.
