Fabulous

This is a hilarious and metal as all get out podcast. Why are you even reading this review? Stop doing that and go listen!

It's alright.

EDIT: I have amended my review because this group has switched to using The Sprawl (which has its own problems) rather than D&D. However, again, this is VERY RP-heavy and doesn't have many (obvious) checks, so this is not the rules-oriented RPG podcast you're looking for, if that's what you're here for--but for what it is...

I do like this. For the most part. However, I did find myself skipping ahead several times, as some of the roleplaying was very cyclical, shall we say. An NPC would establish something clearly and answer questions from players...and then it'd be about thirty minutes before the story progressed because one of the characters would ask hundreds of questions. Some of the audio is also pretty egregious; there's a few nice moments of post-production sfx additions that work alright, but there aren't many of them. Plus, it's difficult to tell the difference between two of the players and the DM's voices--Lillith does have a bit of a distinctive voice but if she and the two players (not Petua's player) are speaking in relaxed tones, they drone on and blend together. (It's much harder to distinguish the three given that this podcast doesn't have transcripts.)

That being said, this is by far not the worst actual play podcast out there. I've certainly heard worse from neckbeards with microphones. It's somewhat diverse (three of the four players are trans), which is a big plus. It could do with a LOT more cutting down, especially of the stuff that may have seemed funny while recording but is stale (and even boring) to listen to in the final product. Some of it feels like hanging out with your friends who think they're funny but aren't. I hope that the time away from GPC (as announced by Lilith) will renew the players'/DM's energy whenever they come back.

Fantastic!

A great group and an awesome podcast! Lilith continues to be my favorite dm and the party could NOT be better. Love this podcast
