  1. The Communion of Saints

    The Communion of Saints

In Part 5 of our Apostles’ Creed series, we explored the powerful declaration, “I believe in the communion of the saints.” This message unpacked what it truly means to be God’s holy people, reminding us that “saints” are not spiritual elites or deceased figures to be prayed to, but ordinary believers made holy through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through His blood, we are given a new identity and legal standing before God, united as His people. The sermon highlighted the biblical meaning of “communion” as deep fellowship, shared life, and spiritual partnership, rooted in the example of the early church in Acts 2. Because of the cross, every barrier between people has been broken down, and believers from every background are brought together by one Spirit, one faith, and one Father. The message challenged us to move beyond merely believing in Christian community to actively living it out by prioritising fellowship, protecting unity, and practicing genuine communion through shared lives, reconciliation, and breaking bread together. We were reminded that spiritual maturity is revealed in how we handle conflict, that reconciliation matters deeply to Jesus, and that unity brings blessing, protection, and strength to God’s people. Ultimately, this sermon called the church to embrace the communion of the saints not as a theological idea, but as a lived reality marked by devotion to one another, commitment to community, and a shared life centred on Christ.

    The Apostles Creed

Series: The Apostles’ Creed — Week 1 We’re beginning a powerful new preaching journey centered on the Apostles’ Creed—one of the most enduring and foundational declarations of Christian faith. In this opening message, we explore the meaning behind the very first line: “I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.” Rooted in Hebrews 10:23, this message calls us to hold firmly to the hope we profess—not because of our own strength, but because God is faithful. In a world where truth is often seen as subjective, we are reminded that truth is not an idea or philosophy, but a person—Jesus Christ. And as His church, we are called to be the pillar and foundation of that truth. We unpack the historical significance of the Apostles’ Creed, why it was formed, and how it continues to anchor believers in essential, unshakable truths. More than just words to recite, the Creed represents the core beliefs we are willing to stand on—truths that shape our identity, guide our lives, and strengthen our faith. This week’s focus reveals a deeply personal and powerful picture of God as Father: A loving Father who initiates the gospel and invites us into relationshipA faithful Father whose character never changesAn Almighty Father who is sovereign over all thingsA Creator Father whose Word carries life and powerWe are reminded that our identity, value, and security are not based on performance, but on being His children. Through Christ, we are brought back to the Father—the true goal of our faith. As we begin this seven-week journey, we encourage you to not only memorize the Creed, but to deeply reflect on its meaning and allow it to shape your everyday life. Join us as we rediscover the foundations of our faith and learn to live them out with confidence, hope, and purpose.

    Living an In-Credible Lifestyle

This message centers on the idea that credibility gives power to our message, especially when it comes to sharing our faith. Using the illustration of a man preaching healthy living while eating a donut, the speaker highlights how people quickly dismiss a message when the messenger’s lifestyle contradicts it. In contrast, when someone’s life aligns with what they say, people are far more likely to listen and respond. Drawing from John 1:35–37, where John the Baptist declares, “Look, the Lamb of God,” the message shows how his words carried weight because his life already reflected truth and conviction. His disciples followed Jesus immediately—not just because of what he said, but because they trusted how he lived. The core challenge is this: Does our life match our message? Even the truth of the Gospel can lose impact if it is not backed by a credible lifestyle. People don’t just want to hear what we believe—they want to see it lived out. Three key ways to build credibility are highlighted: Live a life set apart – True credibility is formed over time through consistent, distinct living that reflects God’s calling, not through momentary actions.Know Jesus personally – Faith cannot be borrowed from others; it must come from a real, personal relationship with Jesus that produces genuine conviction.Point people to Jesus, not yourself – Humility strengthens credibility. Like John the Baptist, our role is to direct attention to Jesus, not build our own platform. The message concludes by emphasizing that our lives are constantly preaching. Whether we realize it or not, we are either reinforcing the truth of the Gospel or creating confusion. Ultimately, the way we live may be the most powerful testimony we ever give—often without saying a word.
