    Tonight we're watching Kei Fujiwara's directorial debut ORGAN, made during the height of trip hop in 1996, and now playing in 2019 at FFFEST in NYC during the height of trap metal. Coincidence, we think not.  ORGAN is a genre-fusion tour de force for transgressive Japanese filmmaker Kei Fujiwara. We've got plant-body-horror, a full on detective drama, a woman working her way out of a cocoon, and gnarly school girls puking while subverting tropes of sexy schoolgirls, all captured with a female-gaze that would make Laura Mulvey stand up and write another essay.     Tonight we're watching Rob Zombie's 2007 version of HALLOWEEN and then we're IMMEDIATELY going to the theater to see David Gordon Green & Danny McBride's 2018 version! We contemplate the difference between reboot and remake (hint: there is none), Daphne rekindles her love affair with Brad Dourif, and we both try not to gush about our mom Jamie Lee Curtis too much, but SHE IS OUR MOM! We also pay homage to Debra Hill, hero producer and creator of so many memorable moments in the original HALLOWEEN (1978). SPOILERS ABOUND, so don't say we didn't warn you. Grab a pumpkin, a knife, a wine, and a mask, because everyone's entitled to one good scare!

Yeah, we know, it’s NOT TECHNICALLY HORROR, but for people who are scared of sharks and Tilda Swinton on a power trip, this IS HARDCORE. Fresh off another “worst vacation ever” film (TITANIC), Leo travels to a remote island in Thailand where Burners have created their own paradise off the grid, but like all beach raves, somebody’s gonna totally freak out before this party’s over. Based on the book by Alex Garland (Dir. EX MACHINA, ANNIHILATION, and writer of 28 DAYS LATER) and featuring legit the best sound track ever: New Order, The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Underworld, All Saints, Moby, Sugar Ray, & f****n’ Bob Marley’s Redemption Song, bro!
