Letting Go of Loopholes // Matt Johnson

Letting Go of Loopholes | Have you ever looked for a loophole? A way to justify what you want, avoid what’s hard, or explain away what you know is right? We all do it—and it impacts our relationships, our choices, and even our faith. In this message from our Losing Religion series, we explore the powerful new command Jesus gave His followers: “Love one another as I have loved you.” And when you really understand what Jesus meant, it changes everything. Jesus didn’t come to pile on more religious rules. He came to replace loophole living with a love that’s personal, sacrificial, honest, and transformational. In this message, you’ll discover: • Why loopholes slowly damage your faith • What Jesus meant by “a new command” • Why love is more demanding than religion • How loopholes affect honesty, gossip, generosity, and relationships • Why Jesus followers should be known for love—not religious behavior • The one question that can guide every decision you make If you’ve ever tried to justify unhealthy choices… If faith has felt more about rules than relationships… If you’ve wondered what Jesus actually wants from you… …this message will challenge and encourage you. Jesus reduced all the religious complexity down to one command: love people the way He has loved you. No loopholes. No excuses. Just a better way to live. Because nobody regrets choosing love the way Jesus defines it. 📖 Scripture: John 13:34–35 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. All Mixed Up // Matt Johnson

All Mixed Up | Have you ever wondered if you’re really good with God? Maybe you’ve felt close to Him one moment—and uncertain the next. Maybe faith has started feeling more like pressure, guilt, or performance than a real relationship. In this message from our Losing Religion series, we explore how many people unknowingly mix old religious thinking with the new way Jesus introduced. And when that happens, faith becomes exhausting, confusing, and easy to walk away from. Looking at Jesus’ final Passover meal with His disciples, we discover what He meant when He introduced a new covenant—a brand-new relationship with God built on grace instead of fear and performance. In this message, you’ll discover: • Why you don’t have to earn God’s approval • What Jesus meant by “the new covenant” • Why so many Christians still live with guilt and uncertainty • How religion pulls people back into performance mode • Why Jesus’ forgiveness is complete and permanent • How old covenant thinking still affects modern faith If you’ve ever felt like you had to prove yourself to God… If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re doing enough spiritually… If faith has become heavy instead of freeing… …this message will help you untangle what’s been all mixed up. Jesus didn’t come to give you more religious pressure. He came to give you confidence, forgiveness, and a personal relationship with God that isn’t based on your performance. You don’t have to live uncertain anymore. 📖 Scripture: Luke 22, Matthew 26, Hebrews 8 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Out With The Old // Matt Johnson

Out With the Old | Have you ever felt like you were slowly losing your faith? Maybe not because you wanted to walk away from God—but because disappointment, hurt, doubt, or religious pressure made faith feel exhausting instead of personal. In this message, we explore why Jesus didn’t come to make religion better—He came to remove the barriers keeping people from a real relationship with Him. Looking at Jesus cleansing the Temple in Mark 11, we discover how religious systems, shame, performance, and fear can quietly disconnect people from God. If you’ve ever wondered: • Why church hurt affects your faith so deeply • Why religion can feel heavy instead of life-giving • Whether God is disappointed in you • If doubts and questions mean your faith is weak • Why Jesus challenged religious leaders so strongly • How to reconnect with God personally again …this message is for you. Jesus confronted the kind of religion that pushed people away from God instead of drawing them closer. He came to remove the pressure to perform, prove yourself, or pretend everything is fine. He came to offer something personal, freeing, and full of grace. Maybe the thing causing you to lose faith is actually something Jesus wants you to lose. This message kicks off our brand-new series, Losing Religion, where we’ll discover the better way Jesus introduced—and why you don’t have to walk away from faith to leave unhealthy religion behind. 📖 Scripture: Mark 11:11–20 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. Broken and Grateful // Matt Braun

Life can feel confusing when your heart is heavy and the world feels divided. You can be deeply burdened by what’s broken around you and still choose gratitude for what God is doing in the middle of it. In this message, we explore what breaks God’s heart, what should break ours, and what it looks like to follow Jesus in a world full of fear, division, and noise. If you’ve ever felt discouraged by church, overwhelmed by culture, or unsure how faith fits into today’s world, this message is for you. You’ll discover: • Why Jesus-centered faith looks different than religion  • What Jesus actually commanded His followers to do  • Why love—not fear—should shape the church  • How gratitude can grow even when your heart feels heavy  • What it means to remove obstacles that keep people from Jesus  • Why disagreement doesn’t have to destroy compassion Jesus didn’t call His followers to fear people, shame people, or build barriers. 5. Are You Admiring Jesus...Or Following Him? // Jarrod Martin

Are You Admiring Jesus...Or Following Him? // Jarrod Martin

In Luke 23, Jesus does the unthinkable. While suffering on the cross, He forgives the very people who mocked, rejected, and crucified Him. His followers watched Him live out everything He had ever taught about mercy, love, and forgiveness—even in His final moments. The same invitation is in front of you. Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in your faith is not learning more about Jesus, but finally taking a step to follow Him. Admiring Him from a distance may inspire you, but following Him changes your life from the inside out. You’ll discover: Why so many people stop at admiration instead of obedience How Jesus proved He is worth following through the cross What it means to move from inspiration to action Why following Jesus starts with small, practical steps How obedience unlocks peace, trust, and transformation This message is for anyone who has been circling faith, wrestling with doubts, attending church without engagement, or feeling stuck between belief and surrender. What if the life you admire in Jesus only becomes real when you begin to follow Him? The step you’ve been avoiding may be the very place where His peace, strength, and presence become personal. 👉 Prayer for this week: Jesus, help me move beyond admiration. Give me the courage to take my next step and truly follow You. 📖 Scripture: Luke 23:33–36, Luke 6:35–36 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. 6. What If They're Not Bad...Just Lost? // Jarrod Martin

What If They're Not Bad...Just Lost? // Jarrod Martin

What If They’re Not Bad… Just Lost? is for the moment when frustration, judgment, or self-righteousness begins to shape the way you see the people around you. In Luke 15, Jesus tells the stories of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son to completely redefine how God views people—not as good or bad, but as lost or found. The same shift can happen in you. Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in your faith is not changing someone else—it’s allowing Jesus to change the way you see them. The people you’re most tempted to write off may be the very people the Father is still pursuing with compassion, grace, and hope. You’ll discover: Why self-righteousness quietly pushes people away How Jesus reveals the Father’s heart for lost people What Luke 15 teaches about grace, compassion, and celebration Why seeing people as lost or found changes how you respond How your love and patience can help someone take a step toward home This message is for anyone wrestling with difficult relationships, resentment, church hurt, family tension, parenting frustration, or the temptation to label people by their worst decisions. What if the people around you aren’t problems to fix, but people the Father deeply values? When you begin to see people the way Jesus does, your response can become part of how they find their way home. 👉 Prayer for this week: Jesus, help me stop writing people off. Give me eyes to see people the way You do—with grace, compassion, and hope. 📖 Scripture: Luke 15:1–32 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. 7. The Way We Walk // Chris Porter

The Way We Walk // Chris Porter

Which Way Will We Walk? That question sits at the center of one of Jesus’ most well known stories—the Good Samaritan. In a world full of division, opinions, and “us vs. them,” Jesus offers a completely different path—one that challenges how you see people and how you choose to live. In Luke 10:25–37, Jesus is asked a simple question: “Who is my neighbor?” But instead of giving a simple answer, He tells a story that disrupts assumptions and removes every excuse we tend to make. Because for Jesus, love isn’t limited to people like you—it extends to anyone in need. This message explores what it really means to follow Jesus in everyday life—not just in belief, but in action. Because love for God is demonstrated by love for others. You’ll discover: • Why we naturally look for “wiggle room” in loving others • How Jesus redefines who your neighbor actually is • What the Good Samaritan teaches about real compassion • Why faith can feel stale when it’s not lived out • How stepping into action can bring your faith back to life It’s easy to agree with Jesus. It’s harder to actually follow Him. But the invitation is clear: “Go and do likewise.” If your faith feels stuck, distant, or just routine, this message will challenge you to step into something more real, more active, and more alive. Because the way of Jesus isn’t just something you believe—it’s a path you walk. 👉 Try this this week: When you see a need you can meet—don’t hesitate. Step in. Cross the street. Do something. 📖 Scripture: Luke 10:25–37 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you. One Step From Jesus // Matt Johnson

One Step From Jesus is for the moment when you know Jesus is inviting you forward—but the next step feels inconvenient, uncertain, or even unreasonable. In Luke 5, Peter had every reason to say no. He was tired, frustrated, and done for the day. But one small step of obedience opened the door to an encounter that changed his life forever. The same is true for you. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs in your faith are only one step from Jesus—one decision to trust, one act of obedience, one uncomfortable yes. You may not be able to predict what hangs in the balance of that step, but your willingness to trust Him can become the turning point in your story. You’ll discover: Why Jesus often meets you in ordinary, everyday moments How one simple act of obedience can deepen your faith What Peter’s story teaches about trust when life feels uncertain Why your next step may matter more than you think How God’s faithfulness meets your willingness to move This message is for anyone who has been hesitating on a next step with Jesus. Maybe it’s forgiveness, asking honest questions, changing priorities, trusting Him with your relationships, or finally surrendering an area of your life you’ve kept closed off. What feels like a small step today may be the beginning of something far bigger than you can see. Because when your faith takes one step toward Jesus, His faithfulness meets you there in ways you never expected. 👉 Prayer for this week: Jesus, give me the courage to take the next step You’re inviting me to take. Even if it feels unreasonable, I trust You. 📖 Scripture: Luke 5:1–11, 1 Peter 2:23–24 📍 Join us in person: Sundays 9:00 & 10:30 AM 📍 The FOR Center — 2314 Brinn Rd, Murray ▶️ Watch more messages: youtube.com/@JourneyCalloway God is FOR you.
