Music Teacher Coffee Talk

I started listening during covid when I was teaching middle school choir and then stopped listening when I went back to school and didn’t have all the spare time anymore. I’m starting teaching elementary general music for the first time this fall and have loved coming back to this podcast! Thanks for the great ideas and normalizing having good days and bad days in the classroom ❤️

Tanya and Carrie are always full of good, down-to-earth commentary on this magical world of music teaching! When I listen to an episode, I always come away with an idea or two, a feeling of “ah, these gals get what kids are really like”, and a few belly laughs that only a Kodaly teacher would probably get! Really loved the latest episode with your five minute to-do list! I was driving my car, so I will have to listen again when I’m in my classroom to do the “to-do’s” but super helpful!

I’m in my 11th year of teaching but I get so many ideas and games and activities from Carrie and Tanya. I love their vibe too. They are people I could see myself sitting down and having coffee with!

Thank you ladies for always inspiring me and keeping it real! I enjoy listening to this podcast so much for its ideas, motivation, insight, and behind the scenes work they do as music teachers. I especially love the performance ideas, as I am a new teacher and still figuring things out. Thank you!!
