The LOST Boys

At the end of Lost, it’s revealed that the “flash-sideways” world from the final season is a kind of afterlife or meeting place the characters created together, where they find each other again after dying at different times. Once they remember their real lives and the bonds they formed on the island, they’re able to move on together. On the island itself, Jack sacrifices himself to stop the Man in Black, restore the island’s power, and save his friends, dying shortly after as Vincent lies beside him. Some characters escape the island and go on to live full lives, while others stay behind to protect it. The ending emphasizes that the relationships and experiences the characters shared were real and meaningful, and that what mattered most was the time they spent together.

These guys had a decent thing going and then abandoned their listeners. Not cool, mates. I like podcasts that follow this concept, where one host has seen a show and the other hasn't. I like them when done right, that is, and the Lost Boys does a satisfactory job. Some of the interviews with people who worked on Lost have been interesting. You can really tell that Jacob loves Lost and can hear it in his voice when he talks about the show. Jack, on the other hand, only seems half-interested, half the time, and often offers no explanation for why he didn't care for something other than "it's dumb." We need more than that, mate. Also, PLEASE stop the whole "number watch" announcement thing. Sure, go over the numbers, but each time Jack yells Number Watch! it’s incredibly grating on the ears. The sound quality was awful at first, like they were recording in a tin box, but it has gotten better. Still needs some work though.

So this pod is really good! The only downsides are the episodes are waaaaaay too short, and I cannot for the life of me tell their voices apart. But it is one of the only spoiler free lost pods, so great!

Every episode is worth the wait, though I hope you finish before I turn 84 (number watch!).
